Alexander looked at their joined hands, and the next second, he tightly held Elizabeth's fingers.
"We will make up, Aubrey." Alexander lowered his voice, his eyes filled with infinite tenderness.
Elizabeth felt the warmth of his palm, her heart felt a strange sensation, indescribable.
Aubrey asked, "Elizabeth, when will you come to see me again?"
"I'll come see you when I'm not busy." Elizabeth quietly withdrew her hand.
Alexander noticed this gesture but didn't hold on.
Unknowingly, there had already been progress between him and Elizabeth. He was very satisfied and not in a hurry.
He was willing to accompany Elizabeth as she slowly healed, willing to be her final support.

"Elizabeth, can I call you often?" Aubrey asked sweetly, smiling.

Elizabeth and Aubrey looked up together to see Alexander standing beside them, looking serious.

"Yeah, I'm very free, I don't have to work." Alexander said lazily, his posture very relaxed.
Elizabeth pouted, "Can't you go to work? It's the end of the year, so busy, and you're out playing alone, not caring about Nolan."
"Nolan can handle it." Alexander frowned.
Why was she always pushing him to work?
He just wanted to spend more time with Elizabeth!

"Then I'll call Alexander." Aubrey said, looking up, "Alexander, give me your phone number."
"Go get your phone to save it." Alexander said.
Aubrey shook his head, "No need, I can remember it."
Alexander squinted.
Kids these days were smart, could Aubrey really remember it after hearing it once?
Alexander gave his number, and Aubrey immediately made an "OK" gesture.
Alexander asked, "Remembered?"
Aubrey nodded.
Elizabeth was surprised, "You remembered it just like that? Won't you forget it later?"
"No, Dad says I have a good memory for numbers."
Elizabeth tapped Aubrey's head and couldn't help but laugh, "So smart."
After chatting with Aubrey for a bit more, Elizabeth and Alexander left.
While waiting for the elevator, Elizabeth couldn't help but sigh, "Kids these days are much smarter than we were. Back then, all we knew was to eat."
"That was just you as a kid," Alexander said with a smile.
