Chapter 911

Elizabeth sometimes felt that Alexander seemed to be in his thirties, almost forties.

But when she thought about it carefully, he wasn't that old.

Alexander was only two years older than her, just a bit more mature.

"Let's see how you behave." She wasn't denying Alexander a chance.

She was giving him a chance, like now.

She was dressed lightly but still walking with him on the road.

She was very cold.

"Will you come to my place tomorrow night?" he asked softly.

He wasn't confident, afraid that Elizabeth would refuse.

"Didn't you hurt your hand? Didn't I promise your grandma and mom that I would take care of you? So, of course, I'll come." Elizabeth tilted her head.

The weak light from the streetlamp shone on her.

She probably didn't know how enticing she looked, tilting her head slightly, with that lazy and casual demeanor.

Alexander really wanted to hug her.

Even if Elizabeth cried and hit him, expressing her dissatisfaction, it would be fine.

But right now, he didn't have any status that would allow him to hug her.

"Okay." He nodded, "I'll wait for you."

"Be careful not to strain your hand." Elizabeth reminded him.

He nodded again but showed no intention of getting into the car.

He was reluctant to leave.

"Get in the car, don't keep the driver waiting too long." Elizabeth reminded him.

Only then did he move his feet and asked Elizabeth, "Did I do okay today?"

Elizabeth had never seen Alexander so affectionate.

If she kept standing there, he might have endless things to say.

He usually wasn't very talkative.

He never used to talk this much with her; he was a man of action.

Today was really different.

"Did you drink too much?" Elizabeth asked him.

He immediately shook his head; he hadn't drunk too much.

"Then get in the car, why are you talking so much?" Elizabeth raised her hand and pushed his arm.

Alexander instinctively grabbed Elizabeth's wrist.

He took a step forward.

Elizabeth took a step back, then looked up at him, her eyes full of caution.

Alexander clearly caught the caution in her eyes, which made his heart ache a bit.

Alexander couldn't hold back; he pulled Elizabeth into his arms and hugged her.

Elizabeth paused.

There was a bit of a size difference between her and Alexander. Being held in his arms, she felt warm and safe.

He could completely shield her, blocking all the wind in front of her.

He lowered his head, burying his face in her neck, as gentle as he could be, he said, "Elizabeth, I love you."

Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat for him again, the erratic rhythm making her feel that something was wrong.

After all this time of not loving, of ignoring. She hadn't expected that one declaration of love from Alexander would make her lose control.

Elizabeth swallowed, her hand gripping his clothes, then she pushed him slightly.

He had no intention of letting go of Elizabeth, only saying softly, "Elizabeth, let me hold you for a while."

He really, really wanted to hold her.

Whether he had a reason or not, he wanted to hold her.

Elizabeth lowered her eyes, stopped struggling, and let him hold her.

He began to understand the hard work and heartache she had endured before.

Now, she could sympathize with Alexander's helplessness at this moment.

It seemed like they were both moving towards each other, but it was also a process of watching each other suffer.

Elizabeth didn't know if the moon would always be full, but she knew that the sun would always rise.
