Chapter 1007
Alexander said, "Do you think I'm putting pressure on you? How about I stand farther away and wear a mask, is that okay?"
Celine said, "Why are you so stubborn? I don't like you, do I need to spell it out for you?"
"I want to pursue Elizabeth. Since I want to pursue Elizabeth, I need to get you two's approval. I'm trying to make you like me. You disliking me is just part of the process. I can't just give up because you say you don't like me, right? How else can I pursue Elizabeth?"
He was clear-headed.
As a businessman, he was serious in negotiations. Although his tone was gentle, the pressure in his eyes and demeanor was still very strong.
Celine moved her lips.
She didn't know how to get rid of Alexander, so she shouted, "I don't care, just don't bother us here anymore!"
Alexander frowned.
Celine told Grant to pull the shopping cart himself.
Alexander's phone rang.
Grant took the shopping cart and quickly left with Celine.
Alexander stood there, watching their backs, and couldn't help but sigh.
The call was from Elizabeth.
When he answered, Elizabeth sounded surprised, "Alexander. Did you go see my grandparents?"
"Yes." His tone was noticeably dejected.
Elizabeth swallowed and carefully asked, "Did you go shopping with them? Are you okay?"
"Elizabeth, I'm not okay at all," Alexander said dejectedly.
Celine, being a professor, was really strict.
When she said she didn't like him, she meant it, without any leniency.
Unlike Grant, who at least gave him a bit of dignity. Grant would sometimes soften and look at Alexander a few more times.
The other end of the line was silent.
After a long time, Elizabeth said, "Alexander, let it go."
Alexander persisted, "Let what go? Give up on you? No way."
Elizabeth explained, "I mean my grandparents, let it go. Let them calm down."
Alexander lowered his eyes, the sadness in them almost overflowing.
He had suffered with the elders, and now his tone with Elizabeth had a hint of pleading, he felt very wronged, "Elizabeth, I really want to remarry you."
Elizabeth said, "I know."
Alexander's Adam's apple bobbed, feeling restless and uncomfortable.
He was silent for a long time before speaking again, "I want you to marry me again, with everyone's blessing. Elizabeth, you've suffered too much, I really want to make it up to you."
Elizabeth was touched by his words.
"Alright. You should go back now, don't follow them anymore. You're on the front page again, everyone is talking about you." Elizabeth's tone was soothing.
Alexander was unwilling, he just called her name, "Elizabeth."
Elizabeth insisted, "Listen to me."
Hearing this, Alexander softened. He sighed, "Alright."
As the call ended, he said softly, "Actually, I'm not afraid of being talked about."
Elizabeth looked at the hung-up phone, momentarily lost in thought.
He was telling the truth.
If he were afraid of being talked about, he wouldn't have knelt in front of so many people at the airport when she was about to leave.
Alexander put his phone in his pocket, planning to leave.
Without Elizabeth, he really couldn't handle Celine and Grant.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard someone say, "Why are you being so rude to the elderly?"
