Chapter 1025

Charles said to Elizabeth, "Elizabeth, look, Alexander can't hold his liquor!"

"You've been married to him for three years, and I'm just now finding out he can't drink."

Elizabeth gave a bitter smile. It felt like a knife to her heart.

In three years, Alexander had never come here once.

Alexander was really heartless back then.

"Elizabeth, I can still drink, really," Alexander explained to Elizabeth.

His face was already completely red, and he was clearly slurring his words.

The two of them had already finished a bottle of whiskey.

Charles wanted to switch to another drink.

Charles, who was very social, could really hold his liquor. His drinking ability was different from Alexander's.

If Alexander didn't want to drink, he could call Nolan to take his place, but Charles had to drink himself to get resources for Lila and the others.

"Drink less, Charles. His stomach isn't good," Elizabeth reminded Charles.

Charles nodded, "He has eaten something, it's fine."

Natalia said, "If they want to drink, let them drink. Why do you care so much?"

Elizabeth didn't say anything and just continued eating.

Alexander had to keep Charles company today.

The two of them kept drinking.

Celine and Grant had already gone to rest.

At one in the morning, Charles had his arm around Alexander's shoulder and said, "Elizabeth is my only niece. But you didn't treat her well."

Charles was also drunk and slurring his words.

Alexander was in even worse shape, leaning on the table.

"Alexander, you pursued her this time, you must love her well."

Elizabeth lowered her eyes. On her phone, Declan had sent a message.

Declan: [Elizabeth, Mom and Dad thought long and hard before asking you to give him up. We also considered accepting Alexander; he's indeed great, and marrying him means you'll never worry about the money.]

[But Elizabeth, Mom and I really can't accept someone who has hurt you so deeply getting you back again.]

[The Percy Family can also ensure you never worry about the money. Mom and I can support you for a lifetime. What you need is love and companionship, to live happily and easily, not money and fame.]

[Elizabeth, give him up.]

Elizabeth gripped her phone tightly.

Everyone was advising her to give up.

Charles's glass fell onto the table.

Natalia sighed, "Alright, Dad, stop drinking."

"I haven't had enough!" Charles pointed drowsily out the window, "It's not even dark yet."

Natalia laughed, "Dad, it's already past midnight."

As she spoke, Natalia looked at Alexander. He was in even worse shape, looking like he couldn't get up.

"Let's go, we're going to bed," Natalia said, supporting Charles.

Charles was too heavy for Natalia to support.

"Elizabeth, you should take Alexander back. I'll take my dad upstairs to rest," Natalia reminded Elizabeth.

Elizabeth put away her phone and nodded.

The dining table was a mess.

Bottles were scattered on the floor.

Elizabeth walked over to Alexander.

He was slumped over the table, not in good shape.

Elizabeth crouched down and gently touched Alexander's arm, "Alexander?"

"Are you okay?" Elizabeth's voice was gentle.

Alexander slowly lifted his head and looked at Elizabeth, suddenly smiling.

For a moment, Elizabeth couldn't tell if he was really drunk.

"Shall I take you home?" Elizabeth asked.

He looked at Elizabeth, his eyes bloodshot, and nodded.

Elizabeth helped him up and draped his coat over him.

Alexander's body was heavy, but he was afraid Elizabeth might fall, so he tried to walk on his own despite his drunkenness.

But he couldn't walk straight, always staggering as if he might fall at any moment.
