Chapter 1081

"I'm not going to waver on this. I love you, and I can't imagine my life without you. Just give me a straight answer instead of leaving me hanging."

Alexander was very annoyed.

He knew Elizabeth still had some feelings for him.

That lingering affection was driving him crazy.

Elizabeth studied Alexander's face for a long moment before looking away.

She had her own life and family to consider.

"I need more time," Elizabeth said softly.

Alexander held her gaze, then finally let out a sigh. "I can wait as long as it takes, but I need some kind of..."

"If you're smart enough, you'll figure out what to do. If not, then my spelling it out won't make any difference. Alexander, if you want us to start over, then treat this like we're meeting for the first time. Court me properly," Elizabeth said firmly, meeting his eyes.

She was willing to give Alexander a chance, but it depended on how he performed next.

He wasn't just doing this for her, but also for her family.

"Do you understand what I mean?" Elizabeth frowned.

Alexander nodded.

He understood.

"When you're trying to win someone over, you start with flowers—not just declarations of love and wanting to pick up where we left off, right?" Elizabeth smiled.

Her message was clear.

She'd give Alexander a shot, but he needed to prove himself.

If he couldn't step up, they had no future together.

Elizabeth's phone suddenly rang.

She picked it up—it was her dad, Declan.

She had barely answered with a "Hello" when she heard Declan say, "Your mother and I are in Coral Harbor."

"Why?"

"Whatever you're doing, we're doing. Are you with Lila?" he asked.

Elizabeth nodded.

The voice on the other end said, "Just you two?"

Elizabeth hesitated. "Well, Lila..."

"Turn around."

Elizabeth paused.

She sat up and looked up to see Declan standing behind her.

Their eyes met, and Declan's expression was not good.

At this moment, Alexander also noticed something was wrong.

At a Restaurant.

Elizabeth changed into casual clothes and sat casually across from Declan.

Declan glanced at Alexander sitting beside her.

"I thought you were out with Lila?" Declan gave Elizabeth a pointed look.

Elizabeth smiled sheepishly. "I didn't want you to worry—it was just a little white lie."

"And yet here you are with Alexander. Where's Lila?" Declan asked.

"She's filming a cameo for something," Elizabeth explained. "Dad, did you come by yourself? Where's Mom?"

"I sent your mom back first." Declan had come specifically to catch Elizabeth, and he had caught her red-handed.

"Declan," Alexander called him.

Declan just rubbed his temple. "You two..."

He took a sip of water, clearly not wanting to get into it.

Elizabeth didn't want to beat around the bush either, so she said directly, "Dad, I'm thinking about giving Alexander another chance. I'm considering getting back together with him."
