Chapter 1075
Kieran was caught red-handed peeking, but the light made Lila's face look gentle and beautiful, making it impossible for Kieran to look away.
Lila pursed her lips and, noticing his distraction, said lightly, "Eyes on the road?"
Kieran snapped back to reality, looked ahead, and his heart fluttered, but his heartbeat only quickened.
Fuck.
Lila was gorgeous.
He preferred this relaxed, private version of Lila over her polished appearance under the spotlight.
She gave him a feeling that no one else could match.
He wanted her.
And he was going to win her over.
This thought became particularly firm at this moment.
Kieran said, "I'm trying to focus on the road, but all I can think about is you."
Lila laughed.
"Mr. Getty, you should try screenwriting. I'd star in that movie."
Kieran frowned slightly. "I'm being serious."
"Funny, so am I," Lila said with a shrug. What, did he think she wasn't?
Kieran fell silent, then shrugged, whatever.
They soon arrived at the theater where Lila was headed.
The theater was still in preparation and hadn't started filming yet. The producer and director had received word that Lila was arriving and were waiting outside to greet her.
As soon as Lila got out of the car, two middle-aged men surrounded her.
"Lila!"
"Lila!"
"Long time no see!"
Kieran pushed open the car door and got out, lazily leaning against the car, watching Lila exchange pleasantries with the two men.
The looks in their eyes were full of respect for Lila.
Indeed, in a place like the entertainment industry, status determined everything.
Lila was at the top of the food chain.
No wonder Lila was a queen.
Kieran crossed his arms, looking very relaxed in his casual outfit.
He watched Lila's back.
Suddenly, Lila turned around and said, "This is Kieran, the president of the Getty Group. He brought me here."
Kieran looked up, and the two men also looked over.
Kieran paused, then stood up straight.
The two men exclaimed in surprise, "Mr. Getty?"
"We've heard so much about you!" they said, walking over to greet Kieran.
Kieran was puzzled.
Kieran glanced at Lila.
Lila smiled, "The director asked how I got here, so I introduced my driver."
Kieran was speechless. That smile of hers was really cunning.
"Mr. Getty, what an honor! We never expected someone like you to visit our little production." The producer was clearly a bit excited.
After all, networking meant everything in this business, and who knew where a connection like this might lead?
Besides, this was Kieran Getty!
Kieran gave a casual smile and nodded. "Please, just call me Kieran. Great to meet you all."
"You're too kind, Mr. Getty—I mean, Kieran." The director, Elisha Fife, stumbled over his words as they shook hands.
Kieran looked at Lila and said, "I'm just the chauffeur today, here with Ms. Parker. Don't mind me—please carry on as usual."
Elisha laughed, "Alright, alright, got it. And thanks for stopping by. Shall we go in?"
The group headed inside.
Lila walked beside Kieran, muttering, "Kieran? Mr. Getty, you're so formal."
"Well, I am here as your driver. Keeping a low profile makes sense." Kieran leaned closer to Lila.
Lila laughed. "So which is it? Bodyguard or driver?"
"I can be whatever you need me to be." He looked at Lila, his eyes softening.
