Chapter 1035
Elizabeth escorted the female doctor to the door.
In the hallway, a nurse was mopping the floor.
When Esme was sent to be rescued, the floor was covered in blood drops.
"I'm going out for a bit," Elizabeth turned to Alexander and said.
Alexander didn't respond.
Elizabeth then headed towards the emergency room.
Before she saw anyone, Elizabeth heard Ellen's crying around the corner.
"Esme, that foolish child, why did she try to kill herself again? How can she keep hurting herself like this all year round?"
"Leon, I'm begging you, think of a way to save Esme."
"How can we go on living like this?" Ellen's cries were heart-wrenching.
Elizabeth looked at the three people in the distance, a complex expression flashing in her eyes.
Ellen was sitting on a chair, Leon was standing in front of her holding her. Henry was sitting alone opposite them, hunched over, holding a bunch of miscellaneous items. He was staring at the floor, silent, visibly exhausted.
"Ms. Percy, what are you doing here?" someone suddenly asked.
Elizabeth turned her head; it was the nurse.
At the same time, the three members of the Russell Family also looked up.
Elizabeth pursed her lips and said lightly, "Just looking around."
Ellen noticed Elizabeth and started crying even harder.
Elizabeth frowned.
Leon looked at Elizabeth with a heavy expression. Leon had aged a lot these days, with gray hair at his temples. He didn't look as sharp.
He still nodded politely at Elizabeth and then continued to comfort Ellen.
He was the most dignified person in the Russell Family.
Elizabeth sighed and couldn't help but ask, "Do you need help?"
"No, we don't," Ellen immediately refused, her voice choked with sobs.
Henry looked up at Elizabeth and tightened his grip on the items in his hand.
Elizabeth said, "I didn't mean anything by it."
"Ms. Percy, thank you, but go ahead with your own things, we don't need help," Leon said calmly.
Hearing this, Ellen felt even more heartbroken.
"Ms. Percy. Ms. Percy. Isn't our Esme a socialite? Why does she have to end up like this?"
"Alexander is so cruel, so cruel! Our Esme just loves him, what's wrong with that?"
Saying this, she couldn't help but look at Elizabeth, crying and asking, "Elizabeth, was it you? Did you deliberately cause trouble, did you make Alexander send our Esme to the mental hospital?"
Ellen suddenly lost control of her emotions, standing up and walking straight to Elizabeth.
Leon quickly followed and stopped Ellen.
Elizabeth stared at Ellen, seeing endless blame in her eyes.
Esme wasn't her biological daughter, Ellen knew that, right?
So, was Ellen's current favoritism and indulgence really for Esme, or was it through Esme for Ellen's real daughter?
"Esme's mental state is indeed not very good," Elizabeth replied.
This made Ellen explode instantly, "You're lying! You're the one who's sick, you're the one who's sick! Our Esme is not sick!"
"Alright, Ms. Percy, please go back and rest," Leon desperately held back the out-of-control Ellen, not forgetting to kindly remind Elizabeth, "Don't come and hurt us again!"
As Elizabeth was about to speak, Henry stood up, walked towards her, suddenly grabbed her wrist, and dragged her away.
Elizabeth shouted, "Henry! Let go!"
