Chapter 1047
People like Kieran and Alexander always had a strong presence. Even in a crowd, they stand out and can be spotted immediately.
That man just now really looked like Kieran.
"I haven't heard that Kieran came to Coral Harbor." Lila took out her phone and opened Facebook.
She had chatted with Kieran just yesterday.
Lila: [Did you come to Coral Harbor, boss?]
The message didn't get a reply for a long time.
Lila pouted, "Forget him, let's enjoy ourselves."
Just as she was about to grab her wine glass, her phone screen lit up.
Kieran: [Are you there?]
Lila squinted. 'Does he really not know if I'm here? What game is he playing?'
He typically kept closer tabs on her schedule than she did herself. She wondered if other business partners were this controlling.
He wasn't even her actual boss—just a financial partner in her career.
Sometimes Lila felt that Kieran paid way too much attention to her movements.
But Kieran had justified it by saying that since he'd invested so much money, he needed to keep an eye on her to prevent any PR disasters.
Lila figured he had a point. Whatever—let him do what he wanted. As long as the world didn't end, Lila wouldn't crash and burn.
But could the man Elizabeth spotted really be Kieran?
What were the odds that she'd come to Coral Harbor and he'd just happen to show up too?
"Didn't Alexander also say he was coming to Coral Harbor? Did he come?" Lila asked Elizabeth.
Elizabeth shook her head, not knowing.
"He probably was just saying it. If he came, he would have told me."
With that, Elizabeth picked up her glass, clinked it with Lila's, and they both drank it all.
Lila didn't say anything more.
Little did they know, on the third floor behind the transparent glass, two people had just met.
Alexander sat on a single sofa, lazily and indifferently watching Elizabeth sitting in the booth below.
He took a sip of his drink and then looked up, "Where did you go?"
"I went out to take a call, seems like I got spotted." Kieran picked up his glass and then stood by the glass looking down.
Lila was with Elizabeth, focused on something.
"Did Lila see you?"
Kieran shook his head, "Seems like it." Otherwise, she wouldn't have sent him the message.
"Whatever," Alexander said.
Alexander just thought Elizabeth and Lila were having a good time, and if he interrupted, it might affect Elizabeth's mood. So he stayed hidden.
He was just quietly accompanying Elizabeth.
Elizabeth came out to relax, and he took it as a chance to relax himself.
As for Kieran.
Kieran had come to Alexander's house, and upon hearing that Alexander was going to Coral Harbor and that Lila was also there, Kieran decided to join in.
"Have you made any progress with Elizabeth?" Kieran asked, drinking and listening to the music.
"Sort of."
"What progress?"
"She told me to forget it."
Kieran almost spat out his drink.
What a hell of a way to define progress.
"She still loves me, otherwise why would she tell me specifically to forget it? Don't you think?" Alexander asked Kieran, clearly trying to convince himself.
Kieran gave Alexander a thumbs up, but internally rolled his eyes.
'Nice one, Alexander. First guy I've seen who can spin rejection into strategy.'
It reminded him of those ridiculous social media posts: "He must love me, why else would he only lie to me and not others?" or "He's obviously into me, why else would he only spend my money and not someone else's?"
