Chapter 1158

Elizabeth glared at him.

Leaving the library, Elizabeth breathed in the fresh air, feeling a myriad of emotions.

"If I could go back to college, Alexander, I would still like you," she said gently.

Alexander looked at her and couldn't help but smile, "I'll take you somewhere later."

"Where?"

"To do something you've always wanted to do."

Elizabeth had no idea what she wanted to do.

She had even forgotten what requests she had made to Alexander.

Until the moment she saw the sunset by the sea.

"Didn't you always want me to watch a sunset with you? I thought today would be a great opportunity."

As the sun set, the sky turned red, the waves surged over the sea, and the salty smell filled the air.

Elizabeth watched the gradually setting sun in the distance and couldn't help but smile.

"It's really beautiful. Too bad we're not eighteen anymore. If I had seen such a sunset at eighteen, I would have screamed with excitement," Elizabeth smiled.

She was almost twenty-eight now.

Alexander looked at her. "You still can."

Elizabeth shook her head, "I don't want to. I need to be more grown-up now."

"Why?"

"Because I'm no longer an eighteen-year-old girl, and soon I'll be Mrs. Tudor," she turned to him.

All the confusion in Alexander's eyes melted away at that moment.

He couldn't help but grin from ear to ear.

On the bench, the two of them slowly sat down.

In the sunset, the light haloed around them.

"Is it okay, Mr. Tudor?"

"What?"

"Can I be your Mrs. Tudor?"

"Of course, I couldn't ask for more."

The sun slowly set.

He softly said, "Elizabeth."

"What?" Elizabeth tilted her head.

"I love you," he look into her beautiful eyes.

If he could go back to college, he would only love her, unwaveringly believing in her.

No matter who saved him back then, he would only want Elizabeth.

There are many ways to repay someone; marrying them wasn't the only option.

But if he missed Elizabeth, his life would be dull and tasteless.

As the moonlight deepened, Elizabeth looked at the sea for a long time.

A breeze blew by, and suddenly there was a weight on her shoulder.

Elizabeth turned her head and found Alexander asleep on her shoulder.

She couldn't help but raise her hand to touch his hair. He had thrown himself into work immediately after being discharged from the hospital; he must be very tired lately.

But even so, he didn't forget to prepare a surprise for her and take her to watch the sunset.

Elizabeth looked into the distance, her lips slightly parted, and she softly murmured, "Me too."

She loved him, unwaveringly.

If possible, let time stop at this moment.

In his sleep, Alexander felt a bit dazed.

It seemed like someone was calling him.

He slowly opened his eyes, and through the mist, he saw an eighteen-year-old Elizabeth standing in front of him.

She was wearing a white dress, her hair falling behind her, her face delicately made up, and her eyes curved as she looked at him.

The mist slowly cleared, and the sunlight filtered through the branches, casting a faint glow on her.

She smiled, reached out her hand to him, and said, "Alexander, I really like you."

This time, he didn't hesitate at all. He took her hand without a second thought and said, "Me too."

Love was like a dense fog; you found your way to me through it, unafraid of my rough edges, and embraced all of me. How fortunate we were that after all life's twists and turns, we remained us.
