Chapter 1110
"Do I need to leave the room? You two are sitting right next to each other and still messaging on Facebook." Rose took a bite of her apple, crossed her legs, and gave them a knowing smile.
Seeing her daughter happy was a mother's greatest joy.
Four years ago, Elizabeth had made the wrong choice, and as her mother, Rose had shared the responsibility. She hadn't guided her properly and couldn't convince her.
So now, Rose hoped Elizabeth had made the right choice. She hoped Alexander wouldn't let Elizabeth down again, because it was not just Elizabeth giving him a chance, but the entire Percy Family.
"Mom, stop teasing us." Elizabeth looked down with an embarrassed smile.
"Okay, okay, I'll stop. Look at you, all grown up and actually blushing." Rose's expression softened with affection.
Alexander listened quietly. He used to think that Elizabeth was more like Declan.
Now he realized that in every smile and frown, Elizabeth resembled Rose more. That kind of elegance and nobility of a socialite was truly unique.
"Declan, if there's anything at the company that you need my help with, just let me know. Don't hesitate." Alexander started talking about work with Declan.
Elizabeth and Rose listened and occasionally chimed in.
Declan nodded and said, "Thank you, Mr. Tudor."
"Just call me Alexander, please," Alexander said.
Declan laughed heartily; he was actually teasing Alexander.
"Alright, alright, Alexander it is." He changed his tone. "In the future, you better treat my precious daughter well, or I won't let you off."
Alexander nodded, "I promise. I won't let Elizabeth down, nor will I betray your trust in me. Please believe me, I'm not that kind of heartless person!"
"You?" Declan looked Alexander up and down.
But even if Declan didn't say it, Alexander understood what he meant.
"It's all a misunderstanding." Alexander could only explain this way, clearly feeling a bit weak.
"Alright, let's all look forward." Declan picked up the coffee cup on the coffee table and lightly clinked it with Alexander's.
Alexander quickly picked up his coffee cup and toasted Declan back, "Don't worry."
Elizabeth looked at Alexander's profile, her heart filled with mixed emotions.
Alexander happened to turn his head, their eyes met, and they looked at each other. Though they said nothing, the tenderness in their eyes spoke volumes.
Let's look forward.
There was no point dwelling on the past.
Things were only going to get better from here.
The research on SH2N had made significant progress, and clinical tests were starting to show results. Elizabeth gradually shifted her focus away from the lab because others were now capable of handling the upcoming work.
Winford was secretly building a studio for Elizabeth under the Kennedy name.
One day, Alexander was working late at the office, and Elizabeth was having dinner alone, video chatting with Lila.
"Mr. Getty visited the set again?" Elizabeth cut a small piece of steak and asked with a smile, "I heard he even spent a fortune to prepare snacks for everyone to support you. Lila, your fan's grand gestures are quite something!"
Lila pouted; this wasn't the first time for Kieran.
Ever since Kieran confessed his feelings for Lila, he frequently visited the set.
Not only did he visit, but he often treated Lila's crew to food.
Lila remembered one time when Kieran directly hired two Michelin chefs, brought a food truck to the set, and treated everyone to a meal.
My God, all the ingredients were imported, and they ate from morning till night. It was pure luxury!
This incident even trended at the time, and many people expressed their envy.
