Chapter 950
Elizabeth reached out and firmly grasped Alexander's hand, just like she did back in high school.
He picked up the fur coat beside him and helped Elizabeth put it on.
Elizabeth looked at his gentle face, unsure if it was the alcohol or the high school memories that were surfacing. For a moment, she felt an urge to kiss him.
"You said you'd come with me, so it's not like I'm kidnapping you," he clarified beforehand.
Elizabeth looked into his eyes and nodded sullenly, "I'm coming with you."
"Elizabeth, if you come with me now, we'll be ringing in the New Year together," he added.
Elizabeth couldn't hear his words; she could only see Alexander's lips moving and his gaze, more ambiguous than ever.
Elizabeth lowered her head, her hand tightly held by his. Seeing that she didn't object anymore, he led her outside.
Alexander and Elizabeth didn't have a significant height difference, but their body types were quite distinct.
Elizabeth was really thin, tall and slender. Alexander, with his broad shoulders and narrow waist, exuded an indescribable sense of security.
Elizabeth even felt an urge to wrap her arms around his waist. His waist was incredibly tempting to her.
It wasn't until she was led out of the bar and the cold wind hit her face that Elizabeth realized.
It wasn't the alcohol; it was her same old weakness from high school. As long as he reached out to her, she was willing to go with him, no matter where.
That time, she didn't ask where he was taking her either.
He took her to ride the Ferris wheel. At the highest point, looking at the city's scenery, her heart felt seventy percent better without Alexander having to comfort her.
The remaining thirty percent was when Declan took her home, coaxing her and admitting he was wrong.
She had always been pampered like a princess, but in front of Alexander over the past three years, she had lost all her dignity, becoming incredibly humble.
Her last bit of pride had been worn away by Alexander.
Alexander opened the car door and let her in.
Elizabeth watched him walk around the front of the car and get in.
She quietly stared at Alexander, unmoved.
He suddenly leaned over and fastened her seatbelt. "If you regret coming with me now, it's not too late."
"I don't regret it. What is there to regret?" Elizabeth's voice was calm and thin.
It seemed as if, even if the person in front of her wasn't Alexander, as long as they were willing to set off fireworks for her, she would follow them.
Alexander fastened the seatbelt.
Now, even if Elizabeth wanted to regret it, it was too late.
He called Nolan on the road, asking him to make arrangements.
The car kept moving forward, and Elizabeth didn't ask where they were going.
She felt a bit dizzy and opened the window a little.
Late December in Lisbun was really cold. After a while, Elizabeth couldn't stand the open window anymore. She pulled her fur coat tighter around her, almost curling up into a ball.
When they stopped at a red light, Alexander took off his jacket and handed it to Elizabeth. She draped it over her legs, the sleeves even touching the ground.
Elizabeth looked at Alexander, who didn't seem to care.
Elizabeth knew he was a clean freak. If someone treated his clothes like this, he wouldn't wear them again.
The car finally arrived at the Tudor Group building.
Alexander got out of the car and opened Elizabeth's door, extending his hand to her.
Elizabeth took his hand and followed him into the Tudor Group building.
They took the elevator straight to the top.
Over a hundred floors.
The elevator ride took quite a while.
Elizabeth followed Alexander out of the elevator.
It was her first time on the top floor of the Tudor Group office building.
The top floor was lit with warm yellow fairy lights. Despite the cold, it looked beautiful at a glance.
There were many flowers here, making the top floor at night look like a sky garden, clearly decorated and exceptionally beautiful.
But as Elizabeth got closer, she realized the flowers weren't planted. It seemed like someone had just brought them here for decoration.
She was really confused. In this cold winter, what flowers could survive on an open rooftop?
"Come here," Alexander called to Elizabeth, standing at the edge of the rooftop.
Elizabeth walked towards Alexander.
Looking down from here, the world seemed incredibly small.
The splendor of Lisbun couldn't be described in words. Elizabeth looked at the bright city and couldn't help but think how wonderful it was to have money.
With money, you could see all the beautiful scenery this city had to offer.
