Chapter 128
Hearing this, Elizabeth's nose stung, and her eyes welled up with tears.
Alexander's humiliation hurt more than his lack of love.
Seeing her choke up, Alexander felt triumphant, like a victorious general.
"Elizabeth, why are you crying? Feeling wronged?" He lifted her chin, his gaze fierce, unlike his usual gentle self.
"Bear with it. You brought this on yourself!" His kisses were relentless. The car's atmosphere was heavy, and Elizabeth struggled to breathe.
Her body was stiff, his heat almost scorching her.
She thought, 'Yes, this is my doing. I shouldn't love him or get involved. I pursue him, insist on marrying him. No wonder he humiliates me; it is all my fault. Declan is right; I have lost my dignity.'
Elizabeth closed her eyes, letting Alexander kiss her wildly, no longer resisting.
But he wasn't satisfied with just kissing. His hands roamed restlessly.
Finally, tears fell from Elizabeth's eyes. She grasped his arms, pleading softly, "Stop."
Her tears were hot and bitter on his lips.
Over the years, she had cried too many times in front of him.
"Stop what?" He looked at her pitiful eyes.
"Stop touching me," she choked out, yet defiant.
She wanted to keep a bit of dignity.
But seeing her so pitiful, he only wanted to bully her more. "Elizabeth, are you still pretending?"
Hearing this, Elizabeth felt sorrow.
Her tear-streaked eyelashes trembled, her lipstick smudged and swollen.
She asked quietly, "Alexander, do you have to humiliate me to be happy?"
"Didn't I say you brought this on yourself?" His fingertips brushed her cheek.
Elizabeth pushed his hand away with all her strength.
"I don't owe you anything!" she said angrily.
He sneered. "You owe me plenty. Without you, I would have married Esme long ago. We wouldn't be in this mess!"
Elizabeth's heart trembled as his kisses fell on her neck, leaving marks.
Her heart hurt far more than her body. She never expected that he always blamed her for their situation.
"Even without me, Esme wouldn't have entered the Tudor family," she said faintly.
Alexander sneered, pinching her chin. "Stop talking nonsense. If you can enter the Tudor family, why can't Esme? You overestimate yourself!"
Elizabeth's heart felt a pang of pain..
She couldn't refute.
She had overestimated herself, thinking she wouldn't lose this marriage.
Seeing her silent, Alexander grew more annoyed.
'Elizabeth, you're not refuting? Admitting you overestimated yourself?'
He pulled her up, her clothes slipping halfway off.
His burning palm fell on her body, leaning in to warn, "Until we get the divorce, behave as Mrs. Tudor and don't cause trouble. If you dare to cheat..." His eyes narrowed, gaze threatening.
