Chapter 994

Alexander was genuinely flustered; he probably wasn't this nervous even when negotiating billion-dollar contracts.

Elizabeth poured him some coffee, signaling him to drink more and calm down.

Alexander held the coffee cup, hesitated for a moment, and didn't drink. He turned to Elizabeth and asked, "Do I still have a chance?"

Elizabeth chuckled.

When Alexander wasn't being a jerk, he was actually quite interesting.

"I don't know," Elizabeth shook her head, deliberately saying.

A hint of frustration flashed in Alexander's deep eyes.

"Can you say a few good words for me in front of your grandparents?" he sighed, feeling melancholic.

Elizabeth lowered her head, "What's the use? When I insisted on marrying you, didn't your mom and grandma say enough good things for me?"

And yet, he didn't listen to a word of it.

Alexander was left speechless by Elizabeth's words.

In the silence, Grant stood at the staircase and said, "You should go home early, Elizabeth."

Elizabeth looked at Grant, feeling that ever since Alexander arrived, Grant's attitude towards her had worsened.

"Grandpa, are you trying to kick me out?" Elizabeth's tone carried a hint of displeasure.

Grant snorted and turned to leave.

Alexander laughed and said, "He's not kicking you out; he's kicking me out."

With that, Alexander stood up, "I'll go then."

Elizabeth picked up a coat from the side, "Let's go together."

"Aren't you staying here?" Alexander asked her.

Elizabeth shook her head, "I just happened to have the day off today, so I came to spend time with them. I also wanted to check on my grandma's hand, so I had dinner with them."

"That's great, but you just forgot about our appointment," Alexander looked at Elizabeth's eyes, his tone filled with an indescribable grievance.

Elizabeth smirked; it was rare to see Alexander so aggrieved.

He should feel more aggrieved.

"How about I have dinner with you? Consider it my apology?" Elizabeth looked up, her beautiful eyes meeting his.

Alexander unintentionally locked eyes with her.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, "What?"

The hallway light was dim, her face thin and beautiful. Those eyes were lazy and gentle, making his heart flutter.

Opening the door, a breeze came in. Alexander shivered and finally answered, "I feel like I'm dreaming."

"Pathetic," Elizabeth scolded him.

Alexander raised an eyebrow, inexplicably feeling that being scolded was also satisfying.

"You can scold me a few more times."

"Wouldn't that make you too happy?"

"How do you know?"

"Men, always scheming."

Elizabeth was displeased.

Alexander curved his lips, opened the car door, and signaled Elizabeth to get in.

Elizabeth blinked, what? What's going on?

"No way, no way? You just said you'd have dinner with me, and now you've forgotten?" Alexander complained.

For the first time, Elizabeth felt that Alexander could be so noisy.

"I remember. I was just teasing you," Elizabeth got into the car.

Alexander clicked his tongue.

She could even forget about having dinner with him today; what else could Elizabeth remember?

To put it bluntly, Elizabeth didn't have him in her heart at all.

Otherwise, wouldn't she have been looking forward to having dinner with him?

Alexander got into the car.

Nolan asked the two, "Mr. Tudor, Ms. Percy, where are we going?"
