Chapter 936

"Are you joining us for the holidays this year?" she asked.

Alexander frowned, "When have I not spent the holidays with you?"

"You haven't for the past few years. You were with Esme," Elara retorted sarcastically.

Alexander didn't know how to respond.

He remained silent.

"Even though you weren't with us, Elizabeth came to our house every year to keep us company. She was practically representing you."

Alexander furrowed his brow.

How did he not know that Elizabeth spent every year with the Tudor family?

Elizabeth would prepare everything at home a day in advance and then spend the evening with the Tudor family. The first year, she thought Alexander would come home, so she returned home after finishing up at the Tudor family's place. She waited for Alexander all night, but he never came home.

By the second year, she knew Alexander wouldn't come home, so she stayed over at the Tudor family's place.

In the third year, Elizabeth received a phone call in the evening and left. To this day, Elara still doesn't know where Elizabeth went that night.

But the next day, there was a piece of news in Lisbun.

Alexander had a night out with Esme, setting off fireworks by the beach to make her smile.

That year, Elizabeth didn't show her face in front of the Tudor family for an entire week.

Elizabeth was busy every year, running back and forth. In the end, her husband went to set off fireworks for someone else. How ironic?

She couldn't even keep her husband's heart. What was the point of just making his family happy?

"I'll come home and spend the holidays with you this year," Alexander said.

"You should."

Elara thought for a moment and looked at Alexander's hand, "Didn't I bandage that for you? Why did you take it off?"

"Mom, she's so smart. She knew I was faking it as soon as I left the hospital," Alexander pouted. What was the point?

"Even though she knew you were faking it, didn't she still come to take care of you?" Elara smiled and sighed, "Our Tudor family owes her so much, we can never repay her."

"This year, your father and I will visit the Percy family."

As she finished speaking, the steak was ready.

She plated the food and said to Alexander, "Did you see how I cooked it? It's that simple!"

"How do I add the seasoning?" He didn't know how much to use.

"Just make it proper. After you cook a few times, you'll know how much to add." She replied.

Alexander scratched his head, looking puzzled.

But when he tasted it, it was really good, very flavorful.

His attempts were either too bitter, too salty, undercooked, or burnt.

He had truly experienced the difficulties of cooking.

"Oh, and one more thing. Your company is having an annual meeting. Your dad asked me to remind you that you need to attend."

"Okay." Alexander continued to focus on the steak.

Elara knew he wasn't interested in the company at all.

She would have to remind him more later.

Alexander looked up at Elara, "For just these two things, you could have called. Why come all the way here?"

"You've stopped working, and you just follow Elizabeth around every day, locking yourself at home. I'm worried about you, so I came to check on you."

"I'm not going to commit suicide." Alexander ate another piece of steak, his whole demeanor exuding nonchalance.

"I'm on my way to a social event. You stay home."

"Are you going out to eat?" he asked.

"Yes."

"Where?"

"Rose Banquet," she said as she headed to the door.

Rose Banquet?

Wasn't that where Elizabeth's class reunion was today?

"Should I pick you up later?" Alexander suddenly asked.

Elara was stunned.

How strange, Alexander actually wanted to pick her up?

"I can't believe my ears. You actually want to pick me up?"

Alexander was speechless.

She laughed heartily, "I'll call you then."

With that, she left, closing the door gently behind her.
