Chapter 160

"Elizabeth, repeating those words to yourself, don't you think it's hypocritical?" Alexander grabbed her arm, his eyes growing colder.

He couldn't believe the Elizabeth who once followed him everywhere now had feelings for someone else.

Whether it was his pride or the alcohol, his heart was racing.

Elizabeth, on the other hand, was calm. She smiled and asked, "Alexander, what do you want?"

His grip tightened. Elizabeth mocked, "Let go of me, isn't that what you want?"

Alexander's throat tightened, his gaze deepening.

He thought, 'Yep, that's what I wanted. But now that she doesn't care about me, why do I feel so anxious?'

"Or are you afraid I'll keep bothering you?" Elizabeth looked into his eyes, her heart aching.

Alexander's eyes were conflicted. He couldn't answer.

His silence told Elizabeth he was indeed afraid she'd keep bothering him.

Elizabeth glanced at him, removed his hand, and said calmly, "I'll transfer the money to you first thing in the morning."

He could rest assured she wouldn't bother him anymore.

With that, she turned and left without looking back, her silhouette resolute.

When Elizabeth returned to the private room, her family had already finished their meal.

She drove Charles back to the hotel in silence, driving fast. Charles could tell she wasn't in a good state.

When they arrived, Charles unbuckled his seatbelt and asked, "Are you really getting a divorce?"

Elizabeth nodded.

In this marriage, the more she treated Alexander well, the less he cherished her. She had to love herself first, or the other person won't cherish her.

Alexander seemed reluctant to let her go, repeatedly asking if she had fallen for someone else. He was just feeling the loss of someone who treated him unconditionally well.

Elizabeth sighed and told Charles, "Uncle, I tried my best in this marriage. But my efforts didn't bring me any benefits." Instead, it left her with a mess and scars.

Charles felt sorry for her. Everyone knew Elizabeth from the Percy family was always proud and pampered. But for Alexander, she broke ties with her family and restrained herself.

Charles hugged her gently. "It's okay. He'll regret losing you!"

'Alexander doesn't regret it. He's happy to marry Esme after divorcing me.' Elizabeth pondered.

"Go rest. I'm heading home." Elizabeth urged.

Charles nodded. "Tomorrow night, I'm meeting with the producers. Come with me. I'll show you a different circle and help you relax. Okay?"

Elizabeth nodded. "Okay."

The next evening.

Elizabeth put on exquisite makeup and wore a limited-edition dress to the event.

Charles's party was a big deal. There were a dozen people in the hall, with a large round table for dining.

When Elizabeth appeared, the room was in an uproar.

She wore a light pink dress, her hair curled and cascading down her back, and five-inch heels. Her already slender legs looked even more alluring.

Her waist was incredibly slim, and as she walked, it was hard to look away.

"Isn't that Ms. Percy?"
