Chapter 1072
"Then beg me, and I'll see if I can be shameless enough to take Lila away tomorrow," Kieran said lazily, hands in his pockets, following Alexander.
Alexander glanced at him and couldn't help but laugh, "You seriously want me to beg you?"
"I've never seen you beg anyone, Alexander. Well, except for Elizabeth," Kieran laughed heartily.
The thought of Alexander begging him was so absurd that Kieran felt like he'd wake up laughing in the middle of the night.
"Kieran, come on. Me, beg you?" Alexander nudged him with his elbow.
Kieran sidestepped and chuckled. "What? Is that so hard to imagine?"
"Not happening. Just get it done tomorrow," Alexander said firmly, opening the door. As Kieran moved to follow him inside, Alexander blocked the doorway. "Did you hear me?"
"Mr. Tudor, I'm the president of the Getty Group, not your assistant or errand boy. Are you seriously giving me orders?" Kieran leaned against the door frame, looking frustrated.
Alexander smiled, "Helping me is helping yourself, Mr. Getty."
"A woman like Lila? If you don't make your move now, someone else will," Alexander said, raising an eyebrow. "Trust me, there's no shortage of men interested in her."
Kieran was speechless.
Kieran fell silent.
Did he really need Alexander to point out the obvious?
But Lila had made it clear she wasn't interested in dating. What was Kieran supposed to do?
"You need to be bold. How else do you think you win over a woman like that? Take it from someone with experience," Alexander smirked as he closed the door.
Alexander Tudor giving him relationship advice—what an irony.
As if Kieran couldn't see right through Alexander's game.
The next day.
During breakfast, Kieran followed Lila everywhere she went.
He served her coffee, poured her water, and acted as her bodyguard, making it impossible for Lila to shake him off.
Lila looked frustrated.
Didn't she literally tell him yesterday she wasn't interested in dating and asked him to back off? So why is Kieran being even more clingy today?
Lila asked, "Boss, do you need something?"
Kieran replied, "No."
As he spoke, he placed an egg on Lila's plate.
Lila stared at the egg on her plate, lost in thought.
What did Kieran mean by this?
"Do you want some pasta?" he asked Lila.
Lila frowned, looking at Kieran's back with a hint of confusion in her eyes.
"What?" Kieran asked.
"What are you up to? I feel like you need something from me," Lila said directly, standing next to Kieran, waiting for the pasta.
As she spoke, she glanced back at Elizabeth and Alexander.
Kieran cleared his throat and said, "Since you're being direct, I'll cut to the chase."
"Alexander wants some alone time with Elizabeth. How about you and I hang out instead?" Kieran smiled, looking particularly goofy.
Lila was stunned. She had specifically taken time off to spend with Elizabeth.
And now she was supposed to ditch her? What the hell?
"I'm not interested in hanging out with you, and I'm not about to abandon Elizabeth," Lila said flatly.
Kieran sighed, "Don't you want Elizabeth to be happy?"
Lila shot him a look.
"Of course I do, but whether Alexander is the source of that happiness is still up for debate," she replied with a hint of sarcasm.
Kieran shrugged. "They're in love. It's only a matter of time before they get back together."
A silence fell between them.
Lila didn't argue with that.
She stared at the pasta cooking in front of her when Kieran added, "As their friends, shouldn't we help them out? Do we really want to watch them torture themselves and drift apart? You know as well as I do they're meant to be together."
Hearing this, Lila had to look up at Kieran.
