Chapter 947

But Alexander knew that every tear Elizabeth shed was because of him.

So when she cried, it was right to blame him.

Alexander didn't step forward but lowered his head and said in a deep voice, "Does my presence make you uncomfortable?"

"Elizabeth, I'll leave in a bit, okay? I promise, I won't let anyone gossip about you behind your back."

Elizabeth bit her lip, her shoulders trembling slightly.

"You told me not to come, but I came anyway. Actually, I've been outside the whole time. I only came in because I saw you're drunk. Elizabeth, I'm sorry."

"Really, I'm sorry. I was impulsive. I'll definitely listen to you from now on. If you don't want me to come, I won't come. Please don't cry, okay?"

Alexander's voice was low and gentle.

Elizabeth really felt like she was dreaming.

These soft words that Alexander used to say only to Esme were now being said to her.

Elizabeth glanced back. Her eyes were red, and his eyes were also tinged with red.

Seeing her turn her head, Alexander couldn't help but step forward, "Tell me, are you okay? As long as you say you're fine, I'll call someone to take you home, and I'll leave immediately."

Alexander was still worried about her.

He was too afraid that Elizabeth would be ridiculed by their classmates because of their relationship, and even more afraid that someone might take advantage of her if she got drunk.

What if she drank too much and someone took her away? Elizabeth tended to black out when she drank too much.

Elizabeth sniffled, her nose turning red as well.

She glared at Alexander, who stepped forward and wiped her tears, "What?"

Elizabeth looked at him for a long time.

Finally, she said in a grievance, "I can't."

Alexander paused, then smiled at her.

"Then I'll wait for you outside. When you're done having fun, message me, and I'll take you home. Is that okay?" he asked gently, his fingers still wiping her tears from her cheeks, "Don't cry, your makeup will get ruined and you won't look pretty."

Elizabeth immediately frowned, her eyes glaring at him.

What was he saying? How could she not be pretty? She looked good even without makeup.

Alexander noticed she was unhappy and quickly corrected himself, "My bad. You look good even without makeup!"

"Alexander, you're so fake," Elizabeth complained.

Alexander didn't know how to respond; nothing he said seemed right.

Elizabeth then looked at the mirror.

No wonder Alexander said her makeup was ruined and she didn't look pretty.

It wasn't just a matter of looking pretty or not; she looked like a mess from crying.

Elizabeth sighed and simply touched up her makeup.

Elizabeth wiped off her eyeliner and eyeshadow, which made her look even more innocent.

Elizabeth sniffled and tidied her hair a bit.

Alexander stayed by her side, complimenting her, "You look great."

Elizabeth said, "I don't need your compliments, I know!"

Alexander chuckled, "Be a little modest."

"I won't."
