Chapter 935
"Mom," Alexander called out.
"What's that smell? What got burned?" Elara's tone was filled with disdain as she hurried to the kitchen.
She saw Alexander rinsing his hand under the water, with a burnt smell coming from the pot nearby.
Elara didn't pay any attention to his injury. She silently dealt with the burnt pot and asked him, "So, you're really trying to learn how to cook now?"
"Yes," he said, lowering his head.
Elara glanced at him and said indifferently, "You should learn. You need to understand that cooking isn't an easy task."
"Elizabeth sacrificed so much for this family. Now it's your turn to experience it. See how it feels to cook a whole meal and wait for someone who never shows up."
Alexander frowned and looked at Elara in confusion.
She really wasn't on his side, not at all.
Anyone who didn't know better would think Elara was Elizabeth's mom.
"Got it," he responded again.
Elara smiled.
"Alright, I'll teach you."
How long would it take him to learn just by following a recipe?
Although Alexander was excellent at work, in life, he was like a child!
So back then, when Elizabeth and Alexander got together, Elara was all for it. Because Elizabeth and Alexander complemented each other!
Elizabeth could take good care of Alexander, and Alexander could give Elizabeth the corresponding return for her efforts.
Elara thought it was a good marriage, but she never imagined that this relationship was so unfair to Elizabeth, causing her so much grievance in this family and in front of Alexander.
"Alexander, I see that your relationship with Elizabeth has been stable recently. You must not do anything to let her down again."
"Okay."
"You need to treat Elizabeth well, be more attentive in everything you do. A girl needs to be cherished. If she's a delicate flower, she needs your careful nurturing to bloom more brilliantly."
The pot was cleaned.
She poured cold oil into it.
Alexander watched and said, "I've been trying very hard to learn how to be a good husband."
"Your grandmother and I have no other wishes, just hope that you and Elizabeth can be happy together and have a baby. Isn't life all about these special moments?"
Elara laughed heartily.
Although life was about these moments, they were really hard to come by.
Lily often said, with her health, she didn't even know if she could live to see the day Elizabeth and Alexander remarried.
"Mom, what do I do next?" Alexander pointed to the hot pan.
Elara glanced at him and said, "Be very careful. The cooked beef needs to be dried properly. Otherwise, water and oil together can cause a fire!"
Alexander now understood why there was a fire earlier.
"Relationships between people are the same. Both of you have fiery tempers."
"My temper is much better now," Alexander said.
"But Elizabeth's temper is getting worse!" Elara glared at him.
Elizabeth was driven to this by him! This jerk!
Alexander blurted out, "She's faking it."
Elara laughed, "Faking it? Do you know how much the Percy Family loves her? In the Percy Family, Elizabeth is a treasure! It's only in front of you that she feels like nothing. She's not faking it; she's naturally delicate and temperamental!"
Alexander didn't know how to respond.
"She changed for you, knowing you like obedient girls, so she became obedient! Forget it, talking about it just makes me angry and my chest tight."
Elara said as she started to fry the steak.
Alexander watched Elara, feeling emotional.
"Mom, I understand."
"You always say you understand. Who knows if you really do or not!" Elara said, frustrated.
"Is there something you need?" Alexander suddenly asked.
