Chapter 1066

During dinner, Lila complained to Elizabeth, "You never reply to my messages. Elizabeth, you've changed! Women always ditch their girlfriends once they have a man! You only make time for me when you're single! Elizabeth, You only make time for me when you're single!"

Elizabeth was speechless. She silently looked up, gazing innocently at Lila.

Elizabeth said seriously, "We're having dinner, and you're not ordering food. I'm ordering, and you're still nagging. Wait a bit and then talk!"

Lila crossed her arms, looking displeased, and took a sip of wine from the glass beside her.

Elizabeth pushed the menu to Lila, "Do you want to add anything?"

"No need." Lila snorted and handed the menu to the waiter.

The waiter nodded and left.

Elizabeth then propped her face with her hands, waiting for Lila to repeat what she was about to say.

Lila sighed, suddenly not in the mood to talk. After all, she was just complaining about Kieran.

Kieran and Alexander had met an old friend here and had plans for tonight.

Elizabeth and Lila rarely had such peace.

Lila downed the wine in her glass and was about to check her phone when she saw a familiar person coming out of the elevator.

Elizabeth saw Lila freeze and followed her gaze.

Wasn't that Eldridge from Coral Harbor?

Maybe it was because Elizabeth and Lila were too conspicuous, or maybe their position was too central. As soon as he looked up, he saw the two of them.

Eldridge, seeing them now, reflexively turned to leave.

Elizabeth laughed.

Eldridge probably had a psychological trauma now!

Seeing them reminded Eldridge of the embarrassing incident at the bar.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, picked up a glass of wine, and nodded at Eldridge.

Wasn't she deliberately provoking him?

He was usually the one doing the provoking, and now he'd become someone else's target.

How annoying!

Eldridge didn't get angry; instead, he smiled.

He calmly sat down with his friends and smiled at Elizabeth, who was drinking.

Elizabeth turned her head and heard Lila tease, "Ms. Percy, your confidence is infuriating."

"He's just a kid. It's fun to mess with him a little," Elizabeth said.

"If Alexander wasn't there last night, could you have handled him yourself?" Lila was curious.

Elizabeth smirked, "What do you think?"

Lila didn't hesitate: "Yes."

Elizabeth didn't refute.

She indeed could, it just depended on whether she wanted to.

People really thought she was as soft as cotton, but she wasn't.

The two were eating.

Suddenly, Eldridge walked over to them.

Elizabeth watched as Eldridge sat down beside her.

Eldridge smiled, holding a glass, "Ms. Percy, Ms. Parker, sorry to intrude."

The two said nothing, waiting for Eldridge to continue.

"About the incident at the bar last time, I apologize. I didn't realize who you ladies were." He extended his glass and clinked it with Elizabeth's.

He said, "Our meeting is fate. Let's put the unpleasantness behind us."

Elizabeth squinted.

He thought he could just say "let it go" and everything was fine?

What if she didn't want to let it go?

Eldridge continued, "Running into each other again tonight must be destiny. Please, let me cover your bill this evening."

"Do you know what you look like right now?" Lila couldn't help but ask.
