Chapter 129

Elizabeth's hand clenched into a fist as she heard Alexander say, "Elizabeth, don't blame me for being ruthless."

She knew how ruthless Alexander could be. It wasn't just aimed at her. If provoked, the whole Percy family would suffer.

Elizabeth thought, 'Alexander, you're overestimating yourself. Would I let you harm the Percy family? I'm not useless, just emotionally weak! If you touch them, I'll never forgive you!'

"Elizabeth, you know my capabilities," he said, his eyes colder.

He never failed at anything he wanted to do.

With that, he got out of the car. Elizabeth watched as he straightened his clothes, looking impeccable again, as if he hadn't just lost his temper.

He walked around the car, got back in, and fastened his seatbelt, ready to drive.

Elizabeth wanted to get out, but he hit the gas, giving her no chance to leave.

She stayed silent, looking out the window.

Then she heard him say, "Elizabeth, don't meddle in Joseph's affairs anymore."

Elizabeth stayed quiet. Whether she meddled or not was her business, not his.

Alexander glanced at her through the rearview mirror. Her clothes were disheveled, and her neck was flushed with obvious marks from his kisses. He raised an eyebrow, his throat tightening slightly.

Feeling his intense gaze, Elizabeth adjusted her clothes quietly.

He kept looking, greedily licking his lips, savoring the taste of Elizabeth.

After three years of marriage without interest, one forceful kiss had him deeply entangled.

It was late at night, but traffic didn't lessen. Elizabeth realized this road wasn't leading to the Percy Mansion.

"I want to go home," she said coldly.

He ignored her and kept driving towards the villa.

Elizabeth frowned. "Aren't you afraid of being caught by Esme again?"

Alexander glanced at the rearview mirror. "Do you care about being caught by Esme?"

Elizabeth was taken aback. Shouldn't Alexander be the one who cared?

"I don't care," she replied flatly.

Alexander's grip on the steering wheel tightened.

In the past, whenever he and Esme went anywhere, she would go crazy, calling him non-stop. Now she calmly said she didn't care.

The car stopped in front of the villa.

Elizabeth didn't want to get out; she wanted to go home.

He opened the car door for her, looking down at her.

Elizabeth didn't get out, and he wasn't in a hurry. Summer nights were long. If she wanted to wait, he would wait with her.

In the end, Elizabeth got annoyed and got out without a word.

Alexander stood by the car, watching her walk towards the house, and let out a cold laugh.

She turned and asked, "What's the code?"

"Your birthday," he said softly.

Elizabeth was stunned, her heart skipping a beat.
