Chapter 1116
"Dream City?" Winford couldn't help but fall into deep thought.
Oliver was even more puzzled. How could Elizabeth have been kidnapped by someone from Dream City?
Or was it simply that the phone number was from Dream City, but the person was from Lisbun?
Winford's mind was racing, trying to think if Elizabeth had offended anyone in Dream City.
At that moment, a red alarm suddenly sounded in the information room.
Callum frowned and muttered, "Not good, our address is about to be exposed. Someone is trying to find our address."
Oliver noticed it too and quickly started protecting the address.
The other side had an equally skilled hacker, whose methods were dirty and ruthless! But Oliver wasn't afraid.
Oliver was one of the world's top hackers, and the only one who could defeat Oliver was Elizabeth!
Oliver focused intently, while Margaret sighed anxiously beside him, unable to help.
Winford's phone rang again.
It was another unfamiliar number from Dream City.
Oliver was busy protecting the address, so Winford had no choice but to handle it himself. Winford locked onto the number and then answered the call.
Winford located the number and identified the voice on the other end.
"Hello," Winford began.
The information immediately displayed details about Winford's voice.
[Young male voice, estimated age 18-22, no accent.]
The system then started analyzing the voice database for similar voices, and almost instantly, it could filter out many possible matches for the male voice!
Among them was Winford's information.
This was Base M's most proud system, which Elizabeth had used to help solve countless unsolvable cases.
"Hello," the person on the other end also spoke.
But the voice sounded altered, very fuzzy, and even had an electric current feel to it.
Winford was puzzled. A voice changer?
Oliver put on the headphones and listened for a moment. After hearing the second sentence, he confirmed what he suspected—the caller was using a voice changer.
"Do you want to save her?" the distorted voice asked. "If so, bring money. How much you bring depends on how much she's worth to you. And if I'm not satisfied with the amount..." the voice turned cold, "I'll just let her die."
The voice stopped abruptly and quickly resumed with a more provocative tone, "You people aren't up to the challenge."
Oliver's hands flew over the keyboard, and with a series of beeps, he secured Base M's system.
He looked at the still-connected phone and smiled, "The person you hired isn't up to the challenge either."
There was silence on the other end, and Oliver continued, "Welcome to his third attack."
"But a friendly reminder, if the third attack is also cracked by me, then your guy will self-destruct." Oliver smiled and then hung up the phone.
Oliver didn't give the person a chance to speak again.
That person was definitely with him.
For anyone in the industry, Oliver didn't need to explain what "self-destruct" meant.
Self-destruct meant that after three failed attacks, their system would be completely compromised and their identity exposed. This was Base M, the firewall Elizabeth had specifically designed.
Many hackers had previously attempted to breach Base M without realizing it contained a failsafe that would trace back and expose them after three failed attempts. Plenty of overconfident attackers had their information leaked while thinking they were just playing around.
Sure enough, after Oliver said this, the system went quiet.
"Amateurs," Oliver sneered.
Too scared to try again after hearing about the self-destruct protocol? What else could they be but second-rate hackers?
