Chapter 1019
After all, it was Alexander who insisted on coming.
"Charles, is there anything I can help with?" Alexander asked.
Charles shook his head, "Just sit down. Not causing trouble is the biggest help you can give."
"Dad, listen to yourself. We're adults, not kids!" Natalia snorted.
Charles squinted and smiled, said nothing, put down the bottle, and continued to work.
Grandma went to put away the painting and even posted on Facebook.
Elizabeth saw the Facebook post and couldn't help but smile at her showing off.
Celine: [Today I received a landscape painting by Lanny. I really like it. Thank you.]
Alexander didn't have Celine's Facebook, so Elizabeth took a screenshot and sent it to Alexander, teasing him.
Elizabeth: [So much content, none of it mentions you.]
Alexander: [It's okay, the 'thank you' is meant for me. I can take the hint.]
Elizabeth looked up at him, and he happened to look up too. Their eyes met, Alexander tilted his head and smiled.
Elizabeth paused, then lowered her head, avoiding his gaze.
She was still so timid.
She didn't dare to look at him. A small gesture from him would make her heart race.
Elizabeth quietly ate, not lifting her head.
Natalia sat on the single sofa on the right, silently observing everything.
The house phone suddenly rang.
Elizabeth went to answer it, "Hello, this is Willowbrook Estate. Who is there? Soit's Brice Darden."
"Okay, okay, I'll be right out."
Elizabeth hung up the phone.
Natalia looked over, "Is Brice sending something to Grandma again?"
Elizabeth nodded, "I'll go out and get it."
"I'll go with you." Alexander immediately stood up.
Natalia swallowed the words she was about to say.
She had wanted to go.
Since Alexander wanted to go, let them go together.
Elizabeth and Alexander left Willowbrook Estate, walked along the path, and saw a black business car.
Brice was once Celine's good partner in the operating room. Later, Brice went into business, and he and Celine had some ideological differences.
Since then, the two hadn't seen each other.
In recent years, Brice had been trying to mend the relationship, but Celine was stubborn and didn't want to see him.
So Brice sent gifts every year.
This was the fourth year.
The car door opened, and Brice, now with a head full of white hair, saw Elizabeth and smiled. When he saw Alexander, he was stunned, "Mr. Tudor?"
"Brice, Mr. Tudor is visiting my grandparents today," Elizabeth explained.
Brice then asked, "Did you two remarry? Is what the news says true?"
Elizabeth quickly shook her head, "We haven't remarried yet."
Brice looked Alexander up and down but didn't continue to ask.
Brice said, "This is my gift for your grandma this year. Please pass it on for me."
Elizabeth smiled as she took it and then said, "Brice, you don't need to prepare gifts next year. My grandma doesn't lack anything."
"Just a token." He always answered this way, every year.
Elizabeth thought for a moment and just nodded.
"I have other things to do, so I'll leave now," Brice said.
Elizabeth saw him off.
Brice didn't forget to glance at Alexander, giving him a kind smile.
As the car drove away, Elizabeth watched its silhouette and couldn't help but sigh, "Brice is a sentimental person."
"What do you mean? Brice likes your grandma?" Alexander asked curiously.
