"Eldridge is quite obedient, he even picks up the tab for us," Elizabeth said lazily.
Lila leaned on Elizabeth's shoulder, looking at her phone.
Her agent messaged her, asking when she would be back from her break to arrange her next work schedule.
Lila: [Let me have two more days of fun, I promise I won't miss that party in a few days.]
Agent: [You've already committed to that party, if you miss it, you'll be ruining your own reputation.]
Lila: [Don't worry, I'll play for two more days and then I'll be back to work. By the way, I'm with Kieran.]
The agent saw Kieran's name and jumped out of bed, calling her immediately.
Lila quickly hung up and typed: [He's driving. We're together and it's not a good time to talk. Just text me.]
Agent: [Wait, how did you two hook up?]
Lila: [Watch how you talk! What do you mean 'hook up'?! Mind your language!]
Agent: [How did you two end up together?]
But that didn't sound right either.
They bump into each other.
Lila: [Alexander followed Elizabeth here, so Kieran came along.]
She didn't tell the agent what Kieran had said to her today.
Agent: [I just checked the news, and I see there are four of you. Four is fine, as long as it's not just the two of you alone.]
Lila: [Got it!]
Agent: [Alright, get some rest, eat less, and watch your figure.]
Lila didn't reply.
The agent sent a bomb emoji.
"Your agent wants you to go back?" Elizabeth asked.
Lila nodded, "But she gave me two more days off, so I can stay with you for two more days."
Alexander, who hadn't looked up, couldn't help but glance at Elizabeth when he heard this.
Kieran also looked back.
In a car with four people, three were happy.
Only one person wasn't so happy.
And who that was, was quite obvious.
The car stopped at the hotel entrance, and Kieran tossed the keys to the valet.
The four of them got into the elevator, Elizabeth leaned against the wall and turned to ask Lila, "Where are we going tomorrow?"
"Beach day. Swimming, sunbathing," Lila replied.
Just then, the elevator doors opened.
Lila turned to Kieran and Alexander. "You guys should remember to bring sunscreen if you're joining us."
Kieran and Alexander exchanged glances.
"You don't have any, do you?" Lila asked, noting their expressions.
They both shook their heads simultaneously.
"No problem. I'll bring extra when we meet up. See you tomorrow!" With that, Lila tugged Elizabeth away by the hand.
As they left, Elizabeth couldn't help but glance back at Alexander.
Alexander found himself envying Lila. She could share a bed with Elizabeth and hold her hand so casually.
When Elizabeth caught Alexander's look, she couldn't suppress a smile.
Kieran nudged Alexander's arm.
Alexander was annoyed, "Why don't you take Lila away?"
"What do you mean?"
"Take her somewhere else so I can have some time with Elizabeth."
"I would if I could, but Lila has to actually want to hang out with me."
"Can't you make this small sacrifice for my love life?" Alexander joked with Kieran. "I've never asked you for a favor this big before."
Kieran burst out laughing, "Alexander, I can't believe what I'm hearing right now."
