Lila remained silent.
Kieran felt awkward.
It was the same when they chatted online before; she often stopped replying in the middle of a conversation.
Kieran couldn't help but ask, "Do you want some spaghetti?"
"No," Lila said and walked away.
"I thought you wanted some since you were standing here."
Lila returned to her seat.
Kieran came back too.
Elizabeth noticed that Lila didn't seem down.
"Did you mess with Lila again?" Elizabeth asked, giving Kieran a pointed look.
Kieran threw his hands up. "Hey, I'm innocent here."
"No, it wasn't him," Lila jumped in, defending Kieran.
Elizabeth made a small "hmm" sound and dropped it.
The four of them ate their meal, each lost in their own thoughts.
"By the way," Lila suddenly looked up and said, "Elizabeth, I won't be able to hang out with you today. There's a film crew nearby, and I have a good relationship with the director. He wants me to help with a cameo."
Elizabeth squinted. So?
Kieran silently peeled his egg.
"I thought it wouldn't hurt to help out for a day, so I agreed."
Lila giggled softly, leaned gently towards Elizabeth, and hugged her arm, acting coy, "Elizabeth, you won't be mad at me, right?"
Lila's coyness made the two men beside them shiver involuntarily.
No one had seen this side of Lila except on TV.
Kieran smirked.
Lila was really cute.
He liked her even more.
Lila realized belatedly that she was acting coy with Elizabeth while the other three were watching, and two of them were men.
When she looked up, Alexander was already looking down at his phone.
Kieran rested his chin on his palm, grinning at her like a lovesick fool.
He was quite handsome, no doubt about it, but that didn't give him the right to stare at her like that.
He looked like a creep.
Lila kicked Kieran's leg under the table.
Kieran coughed lightly and came back to his senses.
Lila couldn't be bothered with him and continued to look at Elizabeth, "Is that okay?"
"Go ahead, movie star! As long as you sleep with me tonight, how could I ask for more?" Elizabeth squinted and smiled, ruffling Lila's hair.
Lila squinted, "You think of me as your bedmate."
"Is that a problem?" Elizabeth asked.
Lila huffed, "If it's you, I'm willing!"
Elizabeth burst out laughing, completely amused.
"Alright, then I'll head out after we finish eating."
"I'll take you," Kieran offered.
"No, thanks." Lila was eating; she wanted to wander around by herself.
"It's fine," Elizabeth nodded, visibly relieved that Kieran would be accompanying Lila. A movie star alone without her manager and assistant around was asking for trouble.
"Then I'll leave Lila in your capable hands," Elizabeth clinked her milk glass with Kieran's cup.
Kieran replied, "My pleasure."
Elizabeth smiled, unable to help herself.
Elizabeth couldn't help but smile. These two actually made a good match.
