Chapter 976

In the early morning, Lisbun was unusually quiet due to the fire.

There were fewer vehicles on the road, and the city's lights seemed less bright.

Alexander quietly looked out the window, with his beloved Elizabeth leaning on his shoulder. He turned his head slightly, looking at Elizabeth's face, and felt a sharp pain in his heart.

He gazed at Elizabeth's hand resting by her side, mustering the courage to hold it, but just as he was about to touch it, he pulled back.

He averted his gaze again, his brows slightly furrowed, thinking about the things Elizabeth had said to him.

"In these seven years, did you not love me even a little?"

"Alexander, let's get a divorce."

"I've loved you for seven years, Alexander, and I've lost."

She admitted she had lost.

In this game of love, she gave everything but got nothing in return.

She lost completely.

Alexander closed his eyes, and thinking about these things, his heart couldn't help but ache.

He didn't know if he could make Elizabeth love him again in three months. But he would do his best.

If, after three months, Elizabeth still didn't forgive him, then for the rest of his life, he wouldn't love anyone else, and the place beside him would always be reserved for Elizabeth.

"Alexander."

Suddenly, Elizabeth's soft murmur reached his ears.

Alexander's nerves instantly tensed. He turned his head, and Elizabeth subconsciously gripped his sleeve tighter, her voice even softer, "Don't."

Alexander looked at her, his eyelashes slightly drooping, his heart aching.

Was she dreaming?

What was she dreaming about? Was she dreaming that he didn't want her again? Was she dreaming that he spoke harshly to her?

Or was she dreaming about the year he was kidnapped, and she went to save him?

If she could do it all over again, would she still be willing to save him?

Alexander's mind was in turmoil.

Nolan's driving speed wasn't fast, and suddenly, it started to snow lightly outside the window.

Alexander suddenly spoke, "Stop up ahead."

"Mr. Tudor, what's wrong?" Nolan asked.

Alexander shook his head, "Nothing, I just want to get out and get some fresh air."

Nolan didn't ask further, just nodded.

He stopped the car.

Alexander gently leaned Elizabeth against the seat and opened the car door.

He quickly got out, gently closing the door, afraid of disturbing Elizabeth.

As he closed the door, he looked at Elizabeth, who was sound asleep.

Alexander sighed.

The wind blew his hair, and he crossed his arms, leaning casually against the car door, looking into the distance, lost in thought.

Nolan got out of the car, holding a coat and handing it to Alexander, "Mr. Tudor, put on a coat, be careful not to catch a cold."

Alexander didn't take it; instead, he asked, "Do you have a cigarette?"

"Mr. Tudor, didn't you quit smoking?" Nolan said, but still went to get him a cigarette.

"I'm not gonna smoke." Alexander just held it in his hand, playing with it.

He still had to take Elizabeth back later, and she was so sensitive to the smell of smoke that she would notice even one puff.

Elizabeth really hated men smoking.

Alexander wouldn't be the person Elizabeth hated.

"Mr. Tudor, I heard there's a car race tomorrow night. Why don't you take Ms. Percy to have some fun?" Nolan suddenly suggested.

Nolan just remembered that last time Alexander said he met Elizabeth on his way back from the countryside market, and they raced each other. Plus, Elizabeth liked cars, so he thought it was a good idea.

"She's a woman, why would she like that?"

"So what she is a woman? Mr. Tudor, you might not know, but there's a very famous racer in the racing circle, and she's also a woman! She's amazing!" Nolan claimed.
