Elizabeth was stuffing vegetables into her mouth and casually responded, "Yes, I'm M."
Lila burst into laughter instantly.
People around them glanced over.
Elizabeth pursed her lips. 'What's so funny? Could she at least try to maintain some dignity? She's supposed to be a celebrity, for crying out loud!'
"Lila, I'm serious," Elizabeth frowned.
"What other identities do you have?"
"Jewelry designer, Kennedy."
"I know that."
"And a race car driver, Steve."
Lila was stunned. 'Steve is Elizabeth? The same Steve who's got those insane driving skills? The one who drifts like a pro?'
She knew Elizabeth was into racing, but she never would've guessed Elizabeth was actually behind the wheel as a driver.
"I've participated in many races and won many awards. I've never shown my face. Did you know that?" Elizabeth raised the corner of her mouth, with a hint of a smile in her eyes.
Lila swallowed.
"Do you know there's a chemist? A chemist who specializes in all kinds of strange drugs and can make many special medicines, Venom." Elizabeth looked at Lila, raised the corner of her mouth, and pointed to herself, "That's also me."
Hearing this, Lila already felt it was absurd.
When did her best friend learn to do this?
Lila picked up the glass next to her and took a sip of wine to clear her head.
"The miracle doctor Emily who disappeared three years ago..." Elizabeth said quietly, her eyes fixed on Lila, silently questioning if she should continue.
When Lila heard Emily, she really couldn't hold it in anymore.
"Elizabeth, are you Emily?" Lila's eyes widened.
She claimed she knew Elizabeth better than anyone, but now she was completely shocked by one revelation after another!
"Yes, I am." Elizabeth nodded, confirming her identity, "My acupuncture is the most famous. That's why I'm so good at massages."
Lila didn't know how to respond.
Elizabeth pondered for a moment and then continued, "Um... what else?"
"Oh right." Elizabeth smiled slightly, "The painting hanging on your wall."
Lila cut in eagerly, "Wait, you're Luminous Lotus too?"
Elizabeth held up a hand."Calm down."
But Lila could barely contain herself. How could she possibly stay calm?
"You're Luminous Lotus!" Lila slapped the table with both hands, almost standing up, "Elizabeth! Fuck!"
Elizabeth pouted and tugged at her ear.
Eldridge looked over, not knowing what the two were talking about that made Lila so emotional.
It was rare to see a celebrity like this.
"Yes, I'm Luminous Lotu, your idol," Elizabeth replied.
Lila pressed her palm against her forehead, stunned.
"Elizabeth, I swear I'm going to smack you! How many secret identities do you have? How am I supposed to believe any of this?" She stared in disbelief.
"Come to my studio when you get home," Elizabeth said calmly. "You'll see for yourself."
"Your studio?" Lila's throat tightened.
"Base M," Elizabeth clarified.
"So you really are Glory M." Lila's voice dropped to a whisper. "The most feared kingpin of the black market. You're actually Glory M."
Elizabeth nodded solemnly. It was true. All of it. She wasn't lying to Lila anymore.
After all these years, it was time for Elizabeth to explain everything to Lila.
