Chapter 1108

Alexander had already pre-ordered the dishes, so once the two of them arrived, the food could be served.

Elizabeth and Alexander talked about the latest progress at the research institute, after all, Alexander was also one of the shareholders.

Alexander quietly listened. When she talked about work, she always looked very serious and charming. Although she was usually very beautiful too.

When Elizabeth was talking non-stop, he couldn't help but interrupt, "Is work the only thing you have to talk to me about?"

Elizabeth stopped mid-sentence, "What?"

When she looked at Alexander, she found him looking at her pitifully.

Elizabeth squinted, and Alexander spoke again, "Why is it that every time we meet, you only talk to me about the research institute? Don't we have anything else to talk about?"

Elizabeth understood.

He was complaining that they had nothing to talk about.

Elizabeth took a sip of red wine and looked at Alexander, "But we really don't have much to talk about right now."

"Do you think this will affect our relationship?" she asked softly.

Alexander nodded, "Yes."

Being together with nothing to talk about was a major red flag; meaningful conversation was what love was all about.

"So what should we do?" Elizabeth smiled bitterly. "Do you still want to be with me?"

Alexander was about to speak.

Elizabeth added, "Think it through before you answer. Don't rush into saying something you don't mean."

Alexander frowned, "What is there to think about? Of course I want to be with you. I don't just want to date you—I want to marry you someday. Just because we're struggling to connect right now doesn't mean we won't have things to share for the rest of our lives."

Elizabeth listened quietly, not making any comments.

He continued, "We are together now, we need to adjust to each other. Although we've been married once, it's no different from the first time, don't you think?"

Elizabeth agreed with this point.

Their first marriage indeed didn't feel much like a romantic relationship.

"Let's take it slow," he said.

Elizabeth nodded.

She was willing to take it slow with Alexander.

The meal they had together was quite warm.

After dinner, there was a plaza nearby, and the two of them took a walk for a while. The weather was still a bit cold, so Alexander sent Elizabeth home early.

On the way, Alexander couldn't help but voice his thoughts, "Why didn't you share yesterday's Instagram post?"

"Why, do you care if I share it or not?" Elizabeth tilted her head, teasing him a bit.

Alexander couldn't help but feel a bit upset, "I feel like you don't love me anymore."

"I really don't love you that much anymore," Elizabeth said honestly.

Alexander instantly felt heartbroken.

"You've become more clear-headed," Alexander said.

Elizabeth nodded and then looked out the window.

But she was also confused.

"Just share it, okay?"

Alexander's voice reached her ears.

Elizabeth looked at him.

That slightly pleading tone, combined with his long, deep, and slightly pitiful affectionate eyes.

Elizabeth admitted, she couldn't refuse.

But.

"I don't want to," she still refused.

Alexander gasped, "You're so heartless."

What?
