Chapter 1002
The lady selling snacks was making food while asking Elizabeth, "Would you like to try some? You're so pretty, and your boyfriend is quite handsome too!"
Elizabeth and Alexander exchanged a glance.
Elizabeth shook her head, about to say no.
Then they heard Alexander say, "Two, please."
Elizabeth gave Alexander a meaningful look, huh?
Alexander said to her, "I didn't want to buy any either, but she said I'm your boyfriend. With such good taste, shouldn't I buy two to support her?"
Elizabeth pursed her lips, moved her mouth, and didn't know what to say for a moment.
The lady said, "Looks like I was right. If I said you were her husband, wouldn't you have to buy out my whole cart?"
Alexander nodded, "I was thinking about it. But I guess you wouldn't agree."
The lady laughed and said, "You two seem a bit unfamiliar, not students from the school, right?"
Elizabeth asked, "You can tell?"
"Regulars are easy to recognize! Besides, you two don't have the vibe of students," the lady chatted while preparing the food.
The man next to her urged, "Alright, stop chatting."
"What's wrong with chatting? Otherwise, guests would be bored waiting, right?" She was quite open and seemed to have a free-spirited personality.
Other people came to buy things, and Alexander moved closer to Elizabeth, standing together. The lady said, "You look like a distinguished professor couple."
How could these ordinary people know who was standing in front of them?
Even though Alexander and Elizabeth were impressive, they still needed to make a living.
Alexander was used to hearing grandiose words, but now he felt a bit uncomfortable hearing such casual remarks.
"Here you go." The owner handed the food to them.
Alexander thanked her.
"Come back often!" the lady said enthusiastically.
Elizabeth nodded but said, "But we're not a couple."
She thought the lady would apologize, but instead, she said, "Sir, you better work harder! Such a beautiful girl, if you don't pursue her now, you'll cry when someone else succeeds!"
After she said that, everyone around looked over.
Elizabeth and Alexander exchanged another glance, and Elizabeth felt a bit embarrassed.
Alexander, however, didn't mind and nodded, "You're right, I'll work on it."
Then he nudged Elizabeth, signaling her to leave.
Elizabeth laughed.
Alexander probably felt embarrassed too, but he liked hearing those words, so he kept responding.
Elizabeth took a bite of the food and then nodded, "She makes good stuff. No wonder even you willingly bought two."
Alexander tried it and frowned, looking like he didn't enjoy it much.
Elizabeth smiled at him but said nothing.
Let him get used to it.
The alley was crowded with people, and it was rare to see someone like Elizabeth and Alexander strolling around so seriously. They stood out in the crowd, clearly not belonging there.
Elizabeth bought some snacks, and Alexander, curious, wanted to try them. But he couldn't accept many of the flavors. Every time he finished eating, Elizabeth would ask him if it was good.
He looked into Elizabeth's eyes, daring to eat but not to comment.
Elizabeth would laugh at him and then push the food into his hands.
If he couldn't eat, he could at least carry the stuff for her.
Though he didn't eat, he was good at paying and carrying things.
Watching the college students eating, Elizabeth really missed her college days.
If only she could go back to high school or college.
She had read many novels about going back to high school, where the female lead no longer loved the male lead.
If she could go back to high school.
