Chapter 1109

Elizabeth had heard this sentence more than once today.

Elizabeth was once again called heartless.

"You used to be even more heartless," Elizabeth teased him.

Alexander didn't know how to respond, "You really know how to break my heart."

Elizabeth laughed, "Does it hurt?"

"How could it not?"

"That's right, I want you to hurt. So you know, I'm not someone to mess with!" Elizabeth crossed her arms and huffed, a bit childishly, with a hint of revenge in her tone.

Alexander wasn't angry at her; instead, he was very happy.

This was the real Elizabeth.

He hoped Elizabeth would be happy with him.

"Alright, alright, you're not someone to mess with!" Alexander repeated her words indulgently.

Elizabeth knew he was trying to appease her.

In fact, Alexander was unknowingly changing for her.

That was enough.

When Elizabeth got home, Rose and Declan had just arrived as well.

So the four of them met at the door.

Declan said, "Come inside for a bit."

Alexander glanced at Elizabeth, waiting for her reaction.

Elizabeth squinted. Why was he looking at her like that?

"What, you need permission from the girlfriend now?" Declan teased with a smirk.

Alexander quickly shook his head. He just didn't want to impose on Elizabeth's space or make her uncomfortable.

"It's fine, come on in," Elizabeth said with a slight shrug.

Alexander's face brightened. "Great, thanks!"

Rose and Declan exchanged a glance and both laughed.

"See, you should be like that too. If I say no, then it's no!" Rose nudged Declan's arm.

Declan pouted, "They're a couple in the honeymoon phase, we've been married for a long time, no need for that!"

Elizabeth went to help Rose with the coffee and told Rose to sit down.

Rose probably had a lot to say to Alexander too.

Elizabeth cut some fruit.

From the living room came Rose's laughter, "Really? As long as the elderly are healthy, that's all that matters."

Elizabeth came out with the fruit and heard Alexander say, "My mom said, when you two have time, we should all get together."

"Sure, we're not busy," Rose readily agreed.

Elizabeth sat next to Alexander and handed him a piece of watermelon.

Alexander nodded and took it, still a bit reserved.

After all, he was now sitting here as Elizabeth's boyfriend.

Elizabeth saw him sitting there nervously and sent him a message on Facebook: [Why so tense?]

Alexander glanced at the phone lighting up on the table and saw the Facebook message pop up.

He silently looked at Elizabeth.

Even at this moment, she was teasing him.

Elizabeth sent another message: [Funny how you're so confident everywhere else, but such a good boy here.]

Alexander pursed his lips, read the message, and then placed his phone face down on the table.

Then he put down the watermelon, wiped his fingers, and then held Elizabeth's hand, which was still typing another message.

Elizabeth paused.

Alexander held her wrist, then slowly took her phone and placed it on the coffee table.

Elizabeth blinked and saw Alexander's hand slowly move down, then interlock their fingers.

"Stop sending messages, I'm right next to you," he whispered.

Elizabeth paused, then looked at her parents, her face suddenly turning red.
