Chapter 965

They were just one-sided pursuers.

Elizabeth's phone suddenly rang.

Elizabeth raised an eyebrow, glanced at Alexander, and then answered the call.

"Aubrey?" Elizabeth found a relatively quiet place.

Aubrey's voice came through the phone, "Elizabeth, what are you doing?"

"I'm accompanying Alexander to the company's annual party!"

"Annual party? Is it fun? Are there lots of delicious foods?" Aubrey asked, his cuteness palpable even through the phone.

Elizabeth looked at the food table in the distance and nodded, "Yes, lots of delicious foods."

"I'm so hungry," Aubrey whined.

Elizabeth laughed, "What do you want to eat? I'll have someone bring it to you later."

"Really?"

As soon as Aubrey finished speaking, a man's scolding voice came from the other end, "Why are you secretly calling her again? Didn't I tell you not to bother her?"

Then, the voice got closer.

Quincy's voice came through the phone, "Ms. Percy, I'm really sorry. Aubrey has nothing to do in the hospital and always wants to call you. I know you're very busy, and this is really disturbing. I've already scolded him. I apologize to you, I'm sorry!"

Elizabeth didn't know how to respond.

It was Aubrey's dad.

Aubrey cried beside him, "I was just chatting with her. Give me back my watch, give it back!"

Elizabeth smiled and quickly said, "It's okay. Aubrey always calls me during my breaks. I like him a lot; he doesn't bother me."

"Don't scold him. A child's heart is very fragile; we need to nurture him as he grows up. If you're always harsh, the child will become insecure."

Elizabeth's voice was gentle.

There was a few seconds of silence on the other end, followed by Quincy's sigh, "His mom died early, and Aubrey hasn't felt what love is. Ms. Percy, you're too kind to him; he will become dependent on you."

"It's okay, I like him a lot anyway. I'll treat you guys to a meal someday. Are you out of the hospital now?" Elizabeth asked.

Quincy said, "Yes, I'm out of the hospital. My body has mostly recovered, and I can start working again in a few days."

"What about Aubrey?" Elizabeth asked.

"He's in kindergarten now."

"Okay. Can you give me your current address?"

Quincy was silent for a few seconds.

Elizabeth said, "It's okay, I just want to note it down. If you ever need help, you can contact me."

"Okay," Quincy agreed.

After the call ended, Elizabeth received the address from Quincy.

Elizabeth asked the waiter to pack a lot of food and drinks and sent them to the address.

Aubrey received the food and immediately called Elizabeth, "Are you an angel? Can you do magic?"

Elizabeth lazily leaned on the sofa, listening to Aubrey's compliments, and couldn't stop smiling.

Indeed, a child's world was the purest.

"Good night, sweetheart. I'll take you out next time."

"Will you bring Alexander?"

Elizabeth looked up, her gaze falling on Alexander, who was socializing nearby.

"Do you want me to bring him?"

"It's not up to me, but you," the little boy replied with a question instead.

This surprised Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth, do you like Alexander a lot?" Aubrey asked.
