Chapter 1070
Lila listened intently to Elizabeth, her eyes filled with sympathy.
Elizabeth had been through so much. She should have had everything—an enviable family, a perfect husband, all the makings of happiness—yet somehow it had all turned to misery.
Lila didn't want to speak; she just wanted to comfort Elizabeth.
Without warning, Lila moved closer and pulled Elizabeth into a hug. Elizabeth looked up, her eyelashes fluttering. "What's wrong?"
Lila lowered her head against Elizabeth's shoulder. "Elizabeth, the worst is behind you now."
Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat.
She gently stroked Lila's hair. "It really is over, isn't it?"
Lila nodded, "Yes, it's all over. And knowing all your secret identities... God, Elizabeth, nothing in this world is good enough for you. You're extraordinary."
"Alright, alright, I'm extraordinary." Elizabeth pinched Lila's face.
Lila pouted, looking at Elizabeth with a grievance.
Only Elizabeth could pinch Lila's face without Lila getting angry.
If it were anyone else, Lila would have already snapped at them.
Who did they think they were pinching her face!
She was Lila, and her face was not something anyone could just pinch! It was outrageous!
Eldridge saw Elizabeth and Lila crying and laughing together and couldn't help but curl his lips, thinking women were really hard to deal with.
Those two were stunning, but he knew better than to try his luck with either of them!
His buddy across the table was openly gawking at the women, prompting Eldridge to warn him, "Don't even think about it, man. Those two are way out of your league."
The man laughed, "If they're out of my league, are they in yours?"
"Give me a break. Haven't you heard about my dad dragging me out of the bar the other night?" Eldridge grumbled.
The man paused. "Wait, those are the women from that story?" He'd heard about the incident but didn't know who Eldridge had been hitting on.
Looking at Elizabeth and Lila now, he couldn't help but whistle under his breath. "Well, getting humiliated was almost worth it—they're stunning."
Eldridge shot him an annoyed look.
Typical guys.
Some men just couldn't help falling for a pretty face.
Elizabeth and Lila finished their meal and went to pay the bill.
The waiter informed them that Eldridge had already paid.
Elizabeth and Lila exchanged a glance and looked over at Eldridge.
Eldridge nodded.
Elizabeth raised an eyebrow and left with Lila.
As they walked out of the restaurant, the night breeze felt very comfortable.
Elizabeth was about to call a cab when a black Maybach pulled up beside them.
Elizabeth bent down slightly and saw the two men sitting in the car.
Kieran was driving, and Alexander was in the passenger seat.
"Got a car?" Elizabeth teased.
Alexander got out and thoughtfully opened the car door for the two of them.
Kieran said, "A friend insisted on getting us a car, we said it wasn't necessary."
Elizabeth squinted, "This friend is something else, huh? Just casually hooks you up with a Maybach?"
"Of course," Kieran chuckled, glancing at Lila.
Lila didn't avoid his gaze, which reassured him.
Kieran was afraid that after expressing his feelings, Lila would avoid him.
"Shall we go?" Kieran asked.
The two nodded, "Sure."
"We ran into Eldridge during dinner," Elizabeth told them.
"Did he give you any trouble?" Kieran looked over, carefully examining Lila.
He was afraid Lila had been bullied.
Only Alexander remained calm, looking down at his phone.
Eldridge must be crazy to dare trouble Elizabeth.
If he dared to touch Elizabeth again, Alexander would turn Coral Harbor upside down.
