Chapter 918

Elizabeth stepped out of the elevator and ignored Alexander.

Alexander, still clueless, followed her in confusion.

'Don't try to guess a woman's thoughts; you'll never get it right,' he thought, so he asked directly, "What's wrong?"

Elizabeth shrugged. "Nothing."

See, even asking didn't help, let alone guessing.

"Are you mad?" he asked.

Elizabeth shook her head again. Was she mad? No, she wasn't.

Alexander squinted his eyes and remained silent for a few seconds. "Is it because I didn't mention the private elevator earlier?"

Elizabeth looked at him.

Alexander knew he had guessed right.

It was indeed because of that.

"My bad," Alexander admitted without hesitation.

Elizabeth frowned.

What did he do wrong?

"I should have told you about the private elevator in advance," he said.

Elizabeth pouted, "It's fine, I'm not that petty."

It wasn't a big deal.

"So, did I manage to make it up to you?"

"You didn't even try to make it up."

They stared at each other in silence.

Alexander asked, "Doesn't admitting my mistake count as making it up?"

Elizabeth smirked, teasing him, "Admitting your mistake is making it up? A man's way of making it up should be with jewelry, roses, and bags. You think you can make it up without spending money?"

Alexander nodded, "Got it."

Elizabeth smiled, "Just kidding."

"I'm heading back to the lab. Do as you please." Elizabeth shrugged and quickly got into the car.

Alexander stood there, watching Elizabeth's car drive away, and couldn't help but smile.

At the lab.

In the afternoon, during a break.

Elizabeth was looking at data when a commotion erupted outside, "Are all these for our director? So beautiful. I love it!"

Elizabeth looked towards the lobby.

She walked over and saw that the lab's lobby was filled with gifts.

Flowers, luxury brand shopping bags, various desserts, and coffee.

"They're all for you!" someone told Elizabeth.

Elizabeth walked over in surprise and casually opened a gift box, revealing the latest limited edition handbag.

She opened another one and found a beautiful ladies' watch.

Elizabeth looked up and saw more items being brought in from outside.

"Who sent these?" Elizabeth asked.

The delivery person smiled and said, "Ms. Percy, these are from Mr. Tudor. He has a message for you."

Alexander?

Elizabeth fell silent.

It seemed Alexander took her joke at the hospital entrance seriously.

Elizabeth asked, "What did he say?"

"He said he takes every word you say seriously. Whatever you want, you'll have."

Upon hearing this, the women watching the scene erupted.

"Mr. Tudor is so good at making up!"

"I thought Mr. Tudor was the honest type!"

"Isn't this a high-profile declaration of love? Our boss is so lucky."

"So many luxury items, this is the world of the wealthy?"

Elizabeth rubbed her forehead, "Got it."

Then, Elizabeth pointed to the items on the floor and said to the people around her, "If you like them, take them."

Everyone paused.

What?

Giving them to us?

"It's almost the end of the year, consider it your year-end bonus from the lab."

With that, Elizabeth turned to leave.

Everyone's eyes lit up; this was much better than a year-end bonus. Any random bag was worth a fortune.

Elizabeth suddenly stopped again.

Everyone looked at Elizabeth cautiously.

Elizabeth walked over, picked up a bouquet of roses, and smiled at everyone, "I'll keep a bouquet of flowers, the rest is yours."

With that, she went into her office.

Everyone exchanged glances and then laughed, "Hope we get more scenes like this."

Money meant nothing to Alexander, just material possessions.

But to them, the working class, it was precious.
