Chapter 124
The man adjusted his glasses and spotted Elizabeth right away.
Elizabeth always turned heads with her beauty.
"Elizabeth, what brings you here?" He stood up quickly, pulling out a chair for her.
"Ethan, I'm having dinner with a friend and bumped into Sophie," Elizabeth said politely.
Ethan Watson smiled. "What a coincidence!"
"Ethan, have you been busy? How's your health?" Elizabeth asked.
Ethan patted his arm and smiled. "Ever since you treated me, I've been great!"
"You still need to exercise more," Elizabeth reminded him.
Ethan nodded and said, "I know. Join us and eat something!"
"No, thanks. Just came to say hi," Elizabeth smiled.
Ethan insisted, "Join us for a meal!"
Elizabeth was about to mention Grant waiting for her at the hospital when she noticed a site planning document on Ethan's table.
"Ethan, is that land near the airport yours?" she asked.
Ethan smiled. "Yes, it is!"
"That land's in high demand lately! Lots of people want it, keeping me busy!" Ethan shook his head, looking tired.
Elizabeth sat down. "I have a friend interested in that land too," she said, thinking of Joseph.
"Your friend?" Ethan asked.
"Yeah. It's Joseph from the Stewart Group," Elizabeth said. "Ethan, you should consider him. The Stewart Group is strong in Lisbun."
Ethan looked surprised.
Sophie was stunned too. Elizabeth was vouching for Joseph, even though his competitor was Alexander, her husband.
Just then, the bathroom door opened.
Elizabeth looked up and saw Alexander walking out.
He wore a white shirt that showed off his muscular build. His long legs carried him towards her, his gaze fixed on her.
He looked a bit angry.
Elizabeth was surprised, 'Why is Alexander here?'
"Ethan, you and Alexander..." Elizabeth was confused.
Alexander sat next to her, crossed his legs, and said coldly, "Mrs. Tudor, what a coincidence."
He called her Mrs. Tudor, which left her stunned.
"Quite a coincidence," she replied awkwardly.
The atmosphere grew tense.
Ethan and Sophie stayed silent, watching.
Alexander poured a glass of wine, took a sip, and looked at Elizabeth. "Mrs. Tudor, you seem quite interested in other men's business."
"I help when I can," Elizabeth said calmly.
Alexander laughed, his voice deep and alluring.
Elizabeth felt a bit guilty looking at his face.
Alexander's anger made things feel strange.
He met Elizabeth's flustered eyes and said playfully, "Mrs. Tudor, do you know who Joseph's competitor is?"
Elizabeth was taken aback, 'How would I know?'
But then a thought hit her, 'Could Joseph's competitor be Alexander?'
Seeing her shocked expression, Alexander laughed. "You are indeed smart."
"Is it really you?" Elizabeth frowned, trying to stay composed despite her shock.
