Chapter 74

"Elizabeth, do you really want to see me make a fool of myself?" Esme bit her lower lip and glared at her.

Elizabeth pulled Esme's hand away and mocked, "You tried to trick Grandma with a fake rare saffron. That was wrong. If you didn't want to be embarrassed, you shouldn't have brought a fake one."

"The real rare saffron is with you. Why didn't you say anything?" Esme's emotions flared up instantly.

If Elizabeth had said something, would she have brought the fake one?

"You didn't ask, did you?" Elizabeth smirked, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

Esme bit her lip, suddenly at a loss for words.

Every time they met, it was always Esme boasting about having the rare saffron. She had never actually asked Elizabeth for it!

Because in her mind, someone like Elizabeth didn't deserve to have that rare saffron. Even seeing it would be a luxury!

"Elizabeth, do you think that by beating me, Alexander will love you?" Esme lifted her chin, unable to out-argue Elizabeth, so she dragged Alexander into it to put Elizabeth down.

Elizabeth remained silent, indifferent.

Esme approached Elizabeth, clutching her wine glass tightly, and said with a sneer, "Alexander will never love you. He only loves me! Elizabeth, you're just a clown! You've given up so much for Alexander, and what have you gotten in return?"

Elizabeth's face turned cold and her gaze was sharp as she looked at the furious Esme in front of her.

"Do you know, Alexander once told me that you're an idiot!" Esme smirked, growing more smug as she spoke.

Elizabeth slowly clenched her fists, her heart racing, her throat tightening.

"He said it himself. He said, you're an idiot!"

As Esme finished speaking, Elizabeth was about to raise her hand to slap her.

Suddenly, a male waiter on the other side of the champagne tower slipped, falling towards the tower!

Elizabeth's eyes darkened. The two six-foot-tall champagne towers were about to collapse towards her and Esme!

Elizabeth's heart skipped a beat, and the waiter's face flashed quickly in her mind.

Wasn't he the one Esme had greeted earlier?

Could this have been planned by Esme?

Elizabeth heard Kieran shout "Alexander" from behind, confirming her suspicion. She quickly pushed Esme away!

Elizabeth's movements were so swift that Esme didn't even realize she was being pushed!

After pushing Esme away, the champagne tower collapsed, crashing down on Elizabeth.

The sound of breaking glasses filled the air, louder than the piano music.

Everyone turned to look, seeing Esme standing unscathed outside the pile of glasses, while Elizabeth laying on the ground, her dress soaked in red wine, surrounded by broken glass!

Elizabeth gasped, lifting her right hand. Her palm and wrist were embedded with shards, and her feet felt cold. She was in a miserable state.

The crowd panicked instantly.

Someone shouted, "Ms. Russell got buried under the champagne tower!"

"It looks like it's not just Ms. Russell, but also Mrs. Tudor!"

"Someone, help!"

Alexander and Kieran exchanged a glance and rushed into the crowd!

Esme approached Alexander, whispering, "Alexander."

Alexander checked Esme over. She was completely fine!

Looking towards the champagne tower, he saw Elizabeth calmly staring at him. Alexander's heart skipped a beat, and he reliazed Elizabeth was the one who was hurt!

Elizabeth saw the concern for Esme in his eyes and couldn't help but feel jealous.

He really was deeply in love with Esme.

"Elizabeth, are you okay?" A gentle yet anxious male voice came from beside her.

Elizabeth turned her head, enduring the pain, and found it was Joseph.

"I... I'm not okay."

She was in a lot of pain.

Elizabeth wanted to move but didn't dare. There were broken glass shards all around her, and any movement would drive them deeper into her flesh!

Joseph noticed Elizabeth's discomfort and said, "I'll carry you to the hospital."

As he was about to reach out, someone bumped his shoulder.

Alexander's voice was cold and filled with anger. "She's my wife. It's not your place to carry her!"
