Chapter 1022

"I don't really know her that well, honestly." Elizabeth forced a smile, politely declining.

Natalia shook Elizabeth's arm. "Elizabeth, I really want to meet Kennedy. I also want to thank Kennedy for lending me 'Tears of Snow.'"

"Then thank me, because I was the one who lent it to you." Elizabeth pouted, continuing to wrap Ravioli Italiani without stopping.

Natalia insisted, "No."

Elizabeth glared at Natalia, then tapped her on the head. "Kennedy doesn't want to see anyone. You need to respect that."

Natalia sighed, thinking it over, and agreed. "Alright then."

Elizabeth nodded.

Charles was curious. "So, Elizabeth, you can really get in touch with Kennedy?"

"We just met once before. We're not that close!" Elizabeth said awkwardly, afraid they would ask her to contact Kennedy for something.

Alexander listened quietly, remaining silent.

Elizabeth couldn't help but glance at Alexander.

"So it seems Mr. Tudor getting Kennedy in his company might be a bit difficult," Charles joked.

Alexander finally spoke. "Indeed. But I'll still give it a try. I'll do my best to sign Kennedy."

"I heard Kennedy say she doesn't plan to sign with any company. You should consider someone else," Elizabeth gently reminded him.

"So you are close with Kennedy after all, if she told you something like that!" Natalia couldn't help but interject.

Elizabeth glared at her.

She immediately shut her mouth, laughed, and said no more.

"Alright, let's not talk about this anymore." Elizabeth looked at Charles and asked, "Charles, what are your plans for next year?"

"The industry is in a slump right now. Just managing my own actors is hard enough. Do you know how many people are trying to poach Lila?"

Charles felt a headache coming on just thinking about it.

"Lila's fans are already criticizing our company for not doing enough, not dealing with people who slander her, and not getting her good opportunities. We're constantly handling it, but it's never-ending. As for good opportunities, what we consider good and what they consider good seem to be different."

As he spoke, Charles was almost depressed.

Natalia comforted him, "It's okay, Dad, you still have me."

"You? You're the least ambitious! It's hard for you to reach Lila's level!" Charles said bluntly.

Natalia raised her face. "What's wrong with me?"

"Your temper outside, if you don't change it, you'll be kicked out of the entertainment industry. Haven't you noticed that whenever your rivals criticize you, they always bring up your bad temper?"

Natalia instantly got angry. She slammed her phone on the couch and shouted, "Isn't that because you guys did nothing? Is it really my bad temper? Why don't you post the whole story online to explain it?"

"We did explain!"

"An official statement counts as an explanation? Spend some money, hire some media!"

"I said others are spending money too, what else can we do? Do you think our marketing team hasn't thought of that?" Charles also got angry.

Natalia was upset. "In my eyes, you're just biased. All the good opportunities go to Lila, and we have to pick up the leftovers."

"If you were the most popular star, I'd give you the opportunities first too."

"How can I become the most popular star with leftover opportunities? That's just unreasonable!"

"Didn't Lila become the most popular star by picking up leftover opportunities bit by bit? Do you think the most popular stars are born that way, just handed lead roles? If the public doesn't like you, no amount of resources will help! If you're unhappy, just terminate your contract."

Hearing about the contract termination, Natalia stood up immediately.

She pointed at Charles, furious!

How could Charles even mention contract termination?

Elizabeth and the others were speechless.

"Alright, being criticized is still a form of attention." Elizabeth quickly pulled Natalia back, signaling her to stop talking.

Work was never-ending. So never let trivial matters cause arguments during family gatherings.
