Chapter 1041

Elizabeth's phone rang.

She took out her phone and leaned casually against the bar.

It was a video call from Declan.

"What's up, Dad?" Elizabeth tilted her head, looking animated.

Declan was sunbathing with Rose. Noticing Elizabeth's upbeat mood, he asked, "Someone's in a good mood. What's got you so chipper?"

"Dad, don't bother with souvenirs from your trip. Just Venmo me the cash instead," Elizabeth said, crossing her arms with a smirk.

"Aren't you a little old to be asking for vacation presents?" Declan replied.

Charles burst out laughing, clearly enjoying himself.

"Your headache is gone, I see," Elizabeth said disdainfully.

At the mention of this, Charles quickly held his forehead and sighed, "Actually, my head's killing me. I need some air."

With that, he left.

Elizabeth shook her head. How could someone as unreliable as Charles be the boss of an entertainment company?

"How are things with Alexander?" Declan asked.

Elizabeth knew Declan was here to reprimand her.

Elizabeth sighed, looking at Charles, feeling a wave of emotion, "Dad, I'll listen to you."

"What?" Charles was a bit surprised.

"I won't contact Alexander anymore, okay?" Elizabeth's voice softened.

Charles moved his mouth, clearly wanting to say something. At this moment, Rose also appeared on the screen.

She looked at Elizabeth, and it was clear that Elizabeth's mood had worsened.

"Sweetie, your dad and I just don't want to see you get hurt again," Rose explained.

Elizabeth nodded, "I know. I also don't want you to worry about me anymore."

"We only want what's best for you, sweetie. Someone who truly loves you won't hurt you like he did. Once you've made a clean break from Alexander, we can help you meet someone new who'll treat you right, okay?" Rose's tone was gentle, almost coaxing.

Elizabeth just nodded, going along with their wishes.

"Elizabeth," Declan called her.

Elizabeth, not wanting to continue the conversation, said, "I should go now. I need to help Grandma and Grandpa with their guests. You two take care of yourselves, okay?"

With that, Elizabeth hung up the phone.

She peered out the doorway, straining to hear the sounds from the living room, an unusual calm settling over her.

Elizabeth picked up her phone. Half an hour ago, Alexander had sent her a message.

Alexander: [I'm home. My mom said she was sorry she didn't get to see you. Come by whenever you're free.]

Elizabeth saw it but hadn't replied.

Feeling increasingly frustrated, Elizabeth ran her fingers through her hair.

After thinking for a while, Elizabeth simply booked a ticket.

She decided to go on a trip.

No one would be able to find her.

As soon as she booked the ticket, Felix received the notification.

Felix: [Boss, are you going abroad?]

Elizabeth: [Don't worry about it. I'll be back in a few days.]

Felix: [I'm coming too!]

Elizabeth: [I'm going alone to get some peace. Don't worry, I won't do anything rash.]

Felix: [What?]

Elizabeth: [Don't worry. You and Aubrey enjoy your vacation. I'll cover all your expenses.]

Felix: [Thanks, Boss. You're the best. Have fun! Enjoy yourself!]
