Chapter 106 Your Heart is Too Dirty
'George's words mean he wants to kick me out of the Windsor family? No way! Absolutely not! How can George ditch me for Catherine? I'm the real daughter of the Windsor family! They've lived with me for so many years. Do they have no feelings for me at all?' Esme thought.
"George, don't send me away!"
George looked at Esme, tied to the concrete pillar, with eyes as cold as if she were a stranger. "Relax. You're Lila's adopted kid. You can still take care of Lila, but forget about coming back to the Windsor family."
Esme's face went pale, and she shouted, "No! Please don't do this to me. I've been with the Windsor family for so many years. Don't you care about me at all? I'm part of this family too!"
George suddenly grabbed Esme by the neck and said, "Esme, this is your last warning. No matter what Catherine does, she's the Windsor family's treasure. As for Alexander..."
Annie, standing behind him, smiled and bowed, "Mr. Howard treats Catherine like a queen. He said as long as Catherine's happy, he'll do anything. He'll even treat Catherine's future kids as his own."
When Alexander said this, he was dead serious, convinced he'd be the father of Catherine's future kids!
But to George and Esme, it sounded like Alexander was willingly making a fool of himself.
George's subtle prejudice against Alexander suddenly vanished.
He didn't expect Alexander to be so humble and accommodating! He realized he had misjudged Alexander all along!
Esme's face twisted with anger as she thought, 'Why would Alexander go to such lengths for Catherine! The Windsor family even wants Catherine's future kids to be the heirs! If that happens, there'll be nothing left for me.'
"George, don't send me away. I won't do it again!"
George's grip tightened around Esme's neck, and he said, "You better remember what you said. Stay by Lila's side, and you won't have a hard life. But if you try to harm Catherine, the Windsor family won't tolerate you."
"Why? I'm also a daughter of the Windsor family." Esme was struggling to breathe with George's hand around her neck.
George chuckled softly and leaned close to Esme's ear. "Because you're unworthy, your heart is too dirty."
Despair filled Esme's eyes instantly!
George cut the ropes binding her, not even looking at Esme as she fell to the ground, gasping for air, and turned to leave the underground parking lot.
Annie pretended she hadn't seen anything and followed George out.
'I didn't expect the Windsor family to care about Catherine even more than I thought, but Catherine is so good, she deserves it!' Annie thought.
Esme was terrified, her face twisted with intense fear and hatred as she thought, 'I can't just sit and wait for death, all of this is Catherine's fault!'
Esme coughed several times before taking out her phone and dialing an encrypted number.
In the hospital room, Oliver was still eagerly waiting for Esme to bring George to treat him.
The people from the Johnson family were also waiting.
Oliver said irritably, "You still want George to treat you? Do you even think you're worthy?"
Steven got pissed seeing Oliver's smug look and snapped, "You think George will treat you? His consultation fee isn't cheap. Can your family even afford it?"
Oliver really couldn't afford it now!
All his liquid assets were gone, and the entire Smith Group had less than three million dollars left. Those three million came from Martin when he bought the old house and cemetery!
George's consultation fee started at five million dollars. Oliver simply couldn't come up with that kind of money.
"Whether I can afford it or not is none of your business. Mind your own business!" Oliver glared at Steven, not taking him seriously at all.
'Does he really think I don't know about the Johnson family's near-bankruptcy?' Oliver thought.
All of Steven's recent investments had tanked, causing the entire Johnson Group to lose a ton of money. Steven was in a bad mood and decided to visit his mother's grave.
Oliver knew the Johnson family had suffered huge business losses recently. He had planned to extort a large sum from them when Clara got married, and then have Clara divorce afterward. But now, his mind was full of his illness. He had no time to think about anything else!
'As for Steven, just thinking about how he deceived me for our house and cemetery makes me wish he would fall ill and die! The Johnson family are all no good!' Oliver thought.
Steven sneered, "No matter how bad our family is, we still have money for my treatment, unlike your family, spending all your money to please the Brown family."
Oliver looked puzzled, thinking he only gave Declan and Anouk at most twenty thousand dollars a year, which wasn't much.
"What do you mean? When did I ever spend money to please the Brown family?" Oliver asked.
Steven looked at Oliver with a pitying expression as Molly, receiving Steven's signal, also sneered, "Who doesn't know Celeste sends her parents a hundred thousand dollars every month? All your money probably went to building houses for her brother."
Serenitia City wasn't a big city, and the wealthy ladies who hung out together knew each other's family matters well.
Celeste used to brag about how good Oliver was to her, saying he sent Declan and Anouk a hundred thousand dollars every month.
At that time, Molly was quite envious. She even thought the Smith family wasn't bad and agreed to the marriage alliance because of this.
Now seeing Oliver's stingy look, Molly thought he probably didn't know about this at all.
Oliver was stunned as he thought, 'Sending a hundred thousand dollars every month? That will be the death of me!'
His hands trembled as he took out his phone and carefully checked the balances of all his accounts.
In an instant, it was like a bucket of ice water was poured over his head!
'Celeste has been secretly using my money to support the Brown family! No wonder I haven't saved any money all these years. It's all taken by Celeste!' Oliver thought as his chest heaved with anger.
Clara quickly went up to calm him down, "Dad, don't be angry. Maybe there's some misunderstanding. Wait until Mom comes back and ask her."
Oliver thought about it and realized she was right.
Just as he calmed down, a few police officers knocked on the door and walked in.
"Mr. Smith, Mr. Johnson, you are suspected of trespassing on someone else's cemetery. Come with us."
