Chapter 164 Fooling Oliver
The alley intersection.
The small car was surrounded by a bunch of motorcycles, and it was so beat up that it could be barely told a car anymore. The driver was lying by the roadside, looking like he'd been through a meat grinder.
Saturn sneered, "Seriously? You think you can mess with Catherine with skills like that? You must have a death wish."
The driver couldn't even talk; all his teeth were gone!
'What the hell? Didn't Oliver say we were just dealing with a high school kid? This isn't even a fancy car. How is Catherine's car still in one piece? I've rammed into her multiple times, and my car's totaled, but hers doesn't have a scratch!' the driver thought.
A few people suddenly appeared from the alley and rushed over to grab the driver. The leader whispered, "Are you the guys Mr. Howard sent to protect Ms. Windsor? We're the team Mr. Marcus Windsor arranged to keep her safe."
Saturn nodded, "Yeah, Mr. Howard sent us."
Saturn got it—Catherine didn't want the Windsor Family to know too much about her. She'd made a ton of money off them and didn't want to blow her cover.
"Hand him over to us, or does Mr. Howard have other plans? Mr. Philip Windsor is waiting for him."
Hearing that Philip had other plans, Saturn nodded. They were all family, so it didn't really matter who took the guy. "Sure, take him. What's Mr. Philip Windsor planning to do?"
"Mr. Philip Windsor said you'll find out soon enough."
In the gallery office, Alexander was still holding onto Catherine, not letting go.
A sudden cough broke the silence. "This is an office."
Dominic couldn't stand seeing Alexander and Catherine all cuddled up.
He'd been waiting in Catherine's office, and after getting bored, he went to the lounge to take a nap. He didn't expect to come out and see these two still hugging, with no intention of separating!
Reluctantly, Alexander let go, planting a quick kiss on Catherine's head before stepping back. "Sorry, Dominic, didn't see you come in."
Dominic rolled his eyes. "If you two can't even notice someone entering the room, you might as well wait to get killed on the street."
'One's the leader of the Shadow Syndicate, the other's the leader of the Faceless Ones. If they can't even be alert, they might as well be dead. They know I came in but pretended not to hear! They just don't know how to control themselves,' Dominic thought.
"Is everything outside settled? The gallery across the street has a nice spot. With some renovation, it could be useful." Dominic glanced at Alexander, somewhat satisfied with his actions.
If Alexander had spoken up for that Esme earlier, Dominic would've immediately called the old guys from the Galactic Aurora Collective to beat him up!
Catherine nodded, "It's settled. I need to go to Ironclad Jail tomorrow. If you need anything, just have Mars handle it."
Dominic nonchalantly replied, "Go ahead. Oscar's coming to Imperia City in a few days. Just make sure you're back in time."
"I'll definitely be back."
Hearing Oscar's name, Alexander was a bit surprised!
Oscar, the legendary stone gambling king from Stellara, had a rep that was hard to beat. It was said that even a worthless rock could turn into precious jade in his hands, and his business empire was global!
The biggest quarry in the world was Oscar's. He hadn't gambled on stones in years, but no one dared to question his title!
From the way Catherine and Dominic acted, they seemed pretty tight with Oscar.
Alexander felt a bit amazed, wondering just how many more surprises Catherine had up her sleeve. She was definitely a treasure!
Dominic extended his hand towards Catherine. "The Hughes Family has been bugging me non-stop. It's driving me nuts. Give me some poison, or better yet, just take them out for me. Let them die!"
Catherine sighed, "This is Imperia City, not the Wild West."
"Just make sure they can't bother me. There's a banquet tonight. Come with me." Dominic hated trouble so much he wished he could just stay on his island painting every day. If it weren't for Oscar's invite and knowing Catherine had a gallery he wanted to check out, he wouldn't have left the island!
Catherine thought for a moment and asked, "Is it the Hughes Family's banquet? Who's been bothering you?"
"It's not their banquet. It's my old friend's birthday, and I'm just going for the fun of it. The Hughes Family will definitely be there. Just seeing them annoys me. It's that Michael. He's called me ten times!" Dominic said.
And every time, it was during the most critical moments of his game. Blocking one number, and he'd get another call. Dominic was furious and called Michael back to curse him out, causing him to lose his game. As far as Dominic was concerned, Michael was a scoundrel! "Catherine, can you help me play a game later and boost my score?"
"Sure."
Serenitia City, The Smith Villa.
Oliver held his phone, anxiously waiting for the call to tell him everything was done.
When the phone rang, Oliver nearly jumped out of his chair. "How did it go? Did you get it?"
"Got it. You lied to me; there was no need for an accident. I told Catherine you wanted a bracelet, and she agreed, but she wants a maple tree ornament from Elodie's room. Oliver, do you have that?"
Elodie loved maple trees when she was alive, and there was indeed a worthless maple tree ornament in her room, just a piece of carved stone, not worth anything.
Oliver was a bit wary. "Did she really agree?"
'That bracelet is so valuable, why would Catherine trade it for a worthless ornament?' Oliver wondered.
"Yes, she said it was a stone she picked up in the yard and carved herself. It's not worth anything but is important to her. I think she doesn't know how valuable the bracelet is. Good thing there was no accident, or the bracelet would have been broken!"
Hearing that the bracelet was almost damaged, Oliver got nervous. "Is the bracelet okay?"
"It's fine. Are we trading or not, Oliver?"
Oliver hesitated, then walked to Elodie's room and picked up the ornament. "I'll get it appraised first. Tell her we'll trade! I'm heading out now."
Oliver was very cautious now. If this thing was valuable, he would be tricked by Catherine.
Oliver hung up the phone, gritted his teeth, and spent a lot of money to find a professional appraiser in the field, sending the maple tree sculpture over.
Oliver: [Please help me see if this thing is valuable.]
