Chapter 73 The Smith Family Got Beaten Up
Richard shot Catherine a look, feeling a pang of regret deep down.
Man, if he’d known, he never would've signed up for a movie with two male leads!
If this messed up his image in Catherine's eyes, he’d blow up those film companies himself.
"Get some sleep, see ya tomorrow."
"Alright, night, Richard."

General Ward, Bright Heal Hospital.
Oliver stared at the bill in his hand, feeling like his wallet was bleeding. It was just a fainting spell from shock, and he’d already told them they got hit at the entrance. The hospital should go after the jerk who did it for the money!
But nope, the staff didn’t listen and kept bugging him to pay up.
With no choice, Oliver paid the bill. Seeing Clara walk in, he said, "Clara, where’d you go? Mr. Windsor’s gonna be here soon. Don’t wander off."
"When’s Mr. Windsor coming? We’ve been waiting all afternoon. Is he really gonna show?" Clara whined.
Oliver wasn’t sure, doubting Brandon would come to see him.
Celeste didn’t seem to care and smiled mysteriously.
"You don’t get it. Mr. Windsor’s a busy guy. He doesn’t have time for us. Even if he comes, for the Windsor family’s reputation, he won’t come during the day. He’ll sneak in at a discreet time."
"Yeah, you’re right. Mr. Windsor knows he’s been tricked; he’ll definitely come," Oliver said, checking his watch impatiently, thinking if Brandon didn’t show soon, they’d have to pay for another day in the hospital!
Just then, several bodyguards in all-black suits walked into the ward. "Are you Oliver? Mr. Windsor sent us to pick you up. Come with us."
The Smith family of three was overjoyed, quickly getting up from the hospital bed to follow the bodyguards.
Clara looked around but didn’t see Brandon. She asked quietly, "Where’s Mr. Windsor? We’ve got something important to tell him. Isn’t he coming?"
None of the bodyguards answered, making things awkward.
Clara tugged at Celeste’s clothes, feeling upset, and said, "Celeste, I need to hit the bathroom."
"Go ahead, but be quick."
Ignoring Clara, the bodyguards took Oliver and Celeste to the car, driving away from Bright Heal Hospital.
As the car started, Celeste said, anxious, "Clara hasn’t gotten in yet! How could you drive off? I’ll tell Mr. Windsor to fire you all!"
"Shut up!" a bodyguard shouted.
Oliver and Celeste exchanged worried looks, wondering where they were being taken.
"We’re Mr. Windsor’s guests! What’s going on?" Oliver demanded.
The bodyguards sneered, "You’ll find out soon enough!"

Early the next morning, just as Richard finished making breakfast and was about to wake up Catherine, there was a knock on the door of The Windsor Mansion.
Alexander arrived with several food carts, and the servants quickly set up a spread of delicious breakfast items on the dining table.
Richard’s homemade breakfast looked totally overshadowed, almost pathetic in comparison.
Richard’s eye twitched, and he asked, "What’s the deal with this?"
"You invited me for dinner last night, so it’s only fair I provide breakfast this morning," Alexander explained.
Richard’s expression softened a bit. He snorted, ready to let it go, but when he saw Alexander heading upstairs, he snapped, "What are you doing! Are you addicted to going to Catherine’s room? Get down here!"
Catherine opened her eyes to see Alexander, fully dressed, standing in front of her, with an angry, pajama-clad Richard behind him.
Richard was still grumbling.
"Richard, what are you two doing so early in the morning?" Catherine asked, still groggy and clueless about the argument, but they sure seemed fired up.
Catherine, in her light blue pajamas, had her hair spilling over the blanket. Her big eyes were still a bit misty with sleep, looking at the two guys in front of her.
Alexander's breath hitched, momentarily speechless at the sight of her.
He bent down and gently touched Catherine's head, speaking softly, "You're awake? Want to sleep a bit more? I brought breakfast, including what you liked last time."
"No, I'll get up right away."
"No rush. I gotta chat with Richard. Take your time."
Reluctantly, he let go of her hair, which had a smooth texture and a faint cedar scent, her usual fragrance.
Richard leaned against the door, muttering under his breath as Alexander walked out.
Closing Catherine's door, Alexander rubbed his temples in exasperation and said, "Next time I'm talking to Catherine, you can stay away. If you're jealous of our good relationship, you can also find a fiancée."
'What does he mean? Is he trying to provoke me for not having a partner?' Richard thought, getting agitated, clenching his fists.
"What do you mean? She's my sister! Don't think you can bully her in front of me!" Richard snapped.
"Last night, Oliver and Celeste were taken to the suburbs and beaten up. Was that your doing?" Alexander asked.
Richard was taken aback and quickly checked his phone, looking up in confusion and saying, "No, I had my people scheduled to deal with the Johnson family today. I thought it was you. Wasn't it?"
Alexander and Richard looked at each other, both thinking the other had done it.
"Looks like it was my dad. But since my people are going, they might as well beat them up again. At least it'll keep them from bothering Catherine," Richard said.
"Let's not tell Catherine about this."
Richard nodded, agreeing with Alexander's suggestion. No need to trouble Catherine with such annoying matters; she just needed to be happy.
The breakfast prepared by the Howard family chef was quite sumptuous. Even Richard, who usually had to stay in shape, ate a lot and looked satisfied.
"The Howard family chef is really good. When will he switch to here? Mr. Howard, you wouldn't be so stingy as to not even give up a chef, right?" Richard said.
"Of course not. But my grandpa also likes that chef's cooking. If you like it, you can visit The Howard Mansion more often. Catherine and I would both welcome you."
Richard bit into his dessert, almost choking, and looked at Alexander with eyes that seemed to shoot fire.
"I've finished eating. If you two want to argue, go ahead. I'm leaving," Catherine said.
Richard quickly followed, afraid Catherine might overthink, and said, "Catherine, it was all his fault. I'm innocent! You believe me, right?"
"I believe you," she said.
Alexander walked beside Catherine, holding her small hand, and said, "I've prepared gifts for Samuel and Grace. We'll give them together in our name, so don't worry."
Seeing their hands clasped together, Richard felt a pang in his heart, his eyes stinging with pain, his heart shattered.
'Could it be that Alexander is right? Should I find a fiancée? He must have said that on purpose to take Catherine away!' Richard thought.
At the entrance of The Martinez Mansion, Aurora and Brandon, having received the news, were already waiting with Samuel and Grace.
"Mom and Dad, why don't you go inside? It's so cold out here!" Aurora said.
"With the sun so bright, how can it be cold? It's Catherine's first visit. I want her to know that this is her home too!" Samuel said.
