Chapter 275 Alexander's Money Was Catherine's Money
At least Catherine was still willing to give him a shot.
Catherine glanced at Alexander, a playful grin on her face. "You really don't have to do this, you know."
Alexander tilted his head slightly to look at Catherine, who was perched on the flower bed.
Her eyes sparkled with a kind of magic that made him fall for her even more.
He chuckled softly and reached out to help her off the flower bed. "It's all good. We're friends. If you want, you can touch my abs and chest."
"Really? Being your friend has its perks, huh?" Catherine teased.
Alexander looked at her standing beside him. "Of course, you're my only friend right now."
Not wanting her to get the wrong idea, he added, "I don't have any other female friends this close. You can relax."
Catherine raised an eyebrow. "So, does that mean you have male friends this close?"
Her eyes twinkled with mischief, her brows dancing like butterflies.
Alexander was taken aback at first, then realized she was messing with him. "None either. I'm too busy to make friends."
Before meeting Catherine, Alexander led a pretty solitary life, not really into socializing.
As they walked towards the resort villa, Catherine lifted her chin slightly, her steps light and happy.
Alexander always had this calm and controlled vibe, like he was born to lead.
Walking with him, Catherine didn't feel awkward; instead, she felt well taken care of.
Even after saying they should start as friends, Alexander kept a polite distance, which warmed her heart.
But his eyes still followed her closely, always lingering on her.
By the shore, Arabella had caught several fish.
Alexander could tell it was the male models brought by Uranus who actually caught the fish, but they made it look like Arabella did, making her laugh heartily.
One of the male models supported Arabella. "You're amazing! Have some food and then continue. We'd feel bad if you got tired."
They brought over Arabella's medicine box, and she happily took her medicine right away.
Seeing Arabella take her medicine and go rest with the male models, Alexander breathed a sigh of relief. "Galactic Aurora Collective is doing pretty well."
Uranus appeared out of nowhere, handing Alexander a piece of paper with a bank account number on it, smiling obsequiously. "Mr. Howard, welcome to invest! We focus on caring for the elderly and keeping their secrets!"
Alexander caught the underlying meaning in Uranus's words. "What did my grandmother tell them?"
"A lot! As a family member, you can know, but that's a different price," Uranus said.
Catherine looked at Uranus helplessly and asked, "Is the company short on money recently?"
She remembered that the two entertainment companies under Galactic Aurora Collective were thriving, with many big-name actors. Even if they weren't making a fortune, they shouldn't be short on cash.
"No, but Sophia had to pay a penalty for breaching a contract with a production team last time! We sued them, but the director got several big luxury brand endorsers, and now Sophia has to pay a lot. That director is a real piece of work, taking a ton of resources from Sophia and messing up the schedules of our other artists! Mr. Howard, you know we're a legit company! We're model taxpayers," Uranus replied.
Catherine raised an eyebrow, quietly watching Uranus's smooth talk.
When Sophia debuted, she faced workplace harassment and ended up beating the director on the spot, avoiding vital areas but leaving him bedridden for months.
Sophia acted because she loved it, not because she had to.
Alexander listened to Uranus patiently, his expression noble, and because it was her company, he paid more attention. "Alright, I'll invest. Send me your company's project plan another day, and if it's suitable, I'll increase the investment."
"That's great! Mr. Howard, you're our company's best investor!" Uranus added Alexander as a friend and left without hesitation, holding his phone. "Miss, I won't disturb you. I'll take my leave!"
'I saw Catherine and Alexander being affectionate just now, and Alexander is willing to flaunt his charm in front of Catherine! Catherine is impressive! I get it now. Catherine getting so close to Alexander without slapping him is all to attract investment for Galactic Aurora Collective! To go to such lengths for the company's development, Catherine is indeed the ultimate modern-day tycoon,' Uranus thought.
Receiving an investment transfer, Uranus quickly took a screenshot and sent it to the Galactic Aurora Collective group.
Uranus: [Look, this is the money invested by Catherine's fiancé, so it means no need to share the profits!]
After all, Alexander's money was no different from Catherine's money!
Catherine looked at the message on her phone and rubbed her forehead helplessly. "You didn't need to invest. They have their ways. Philip is helping Sophia, and the company's legal team isn't just for show."
"I'm a businessman. I'm interested in any promising project!" Alexander was calm and composed, walking with a dignified air, as if he had just made an insignificant investment.
If the amount wasn't so large, Catherine would have thought he just went out to buy groceries.
Alexander's eyes carried a hint of a smile, his lips curving into a subtle arc. "Or are you worried I'll suffer a loss? Don't worry, my investment judgment is pretty good. At least I've never been wrong."
Alexander suddenly took a step closer. "Whether it's judging projects or people, I've never been wrong."
Catherine felt the oppressive aura from Alexander suddenly approaching. "Mr. Howard, if you're not worried, why should I be!"
With that, she turned and walked away without looking back, her retreating figure like a fleeing rabbit.
Behind her came Alexander's low laughter.
In the resort's medical room, Franklin had changed clothes and was lying on the bed, his assistant still drying his wet hair.
He looked a bit weak, but fortunately, nothing serious.
Franklin was getting old, and the reservoir water was cold and deep, making his face turn red from the cold.
Evander looked at Franklin, rubbing his hands apologetically. "Sorry, Mr. Morales. My mom is old and her eyesight is poor. She just came to fish. Who knew she would accidentally bump into you."
