Chapter 110 Shoot Him Dead!
Catherine raised an eyebrow and asked, "So, after you took the director from Angel's Haven Orphanage, you guys split up?"
Ethan nodded, "Yeah, we went our separate ways pretty quick. I don't know what info you're after, but his identity's always been a secret. If you want the scoop, you'll have to wait till my brother wakes up."
He glared at Catherine standing at the foot of the bed, his eyes intense, muscles tensed. "If anything happens to my brother, I'll kill you!"
Catherine shrugged, giving him a dismissive glance, her red lips curling under her mask, eyes full of disdain. "You? Really?"
Her voice was calm, but it still made Ethan feel like he was suffocating!
Phantom Doctor Moon had a rep on the dark web for killing without a trace. She could save lives, but she could also end them!
Catherine's eyes were calm but carried a heavy sense of authority. Just one look from her made her seem like a queen of the night. She looked at Ethan and said, "Ethan, don't forget, I'm both a doctor and a killer. You don't have the ability to kill me."
She turned away, sneering, "Your brother's life is in my hands. Cross me, and he won't make it. Got it?"
Ethan's breath hitched as he thought, 'She dares to threaten me like this? I've been through so much on the international stage, but this is the first time I've met such an arrogant woman! Yet her gaze makes me feel like an invisible hand is choking my neck, making it hard to breathe!'
"I won't leave until he wakes up, but if you try to threaten me, he might never wake up." Her tone was flat, like she was talking about the weather.
Catherine gave Ethan one last glance and walked out of the ward.
Mars approached, whispering, "Miss, Esme met with a scar-faced guy. They secretly traded a bunch of Vitality Pills."
"Do you know who that guy is?" Catherine asked.
Mars followed Catherine into the office and closed the door.
The office looked ordinary but had been meticulously modified by the Galactic Aurora Collective.
When Elodie was hospitalized, Catherine lived in this office, tirelessly studying medical records and pharmacopoeia.
She had casually modified the office, even a sniper rifle would have a hard time penetrating the doors and windows of this place!
"That guy's probably just a small fry. I checked him out; he's a drug dealer who used to work with Eli years ago," Mars said.
Catherine nodded, "So there's someone bigger behind him?"
"Definitely, at least an organization capable of producing Vitality Pills. Their production scale must be bigger than our lab," Mars said.
'Having a medical lab comparable to Moon Laboratory in the entire Stellara region is traceable. There's only one possibility!' Catherine thought before she asked, "An overseas lab?"
"You're sharp. This place is close to the border, probably a lab in no-man's land. After all, it's not easy to bring in something like Vitality Pills."
Osflow was only a few hundred miles from the border. Back then, Catherine traveled between the Galactic Aurora Collective and the old Smith family house without being discovered.
The Smith family didn't care about her, and even if Elodie cared, she wouldn't ask much.
"Can you find out which lab it is?" she asked.
"Still looking into it. George is tailing the scar-faced guy. Looks like he's heading towards the border. Should we set up some protection?" Mars suggested, knowing the Windsor family had a soft spot for Catherine.
"Don't blow our cover" she said.
"Relax, we got this. Even if he asks, I won't spill," Mars assured her.
'The Windsor family cares about me, and I don't want them worrying about what I'm up to. I'll handle my own messes,' Catherine thought.
"Find out how Esme got in touch with that scar-faced guy," she ordered.
Mars, munching on an apple, raised an eyebrow, "You think Esme hooking up with that scar-faced dude is fishy too?"
Catherine replied coolly, "Esme's so-called intelligence makes me think her brain's just for show."
Honestly, Esme didn't seem smart enough to get mixed up in something as high-stakes as Vitality Pills!
Mars nodded in agreement, thinking, 'Esme's a real piece of work. It's a miracle she's lasted this long!'
Venus, staring at the dense data on the computer, was stunned by the green text on the black screen. "Someone posted on the dark web, offering a million bucks for the head of Catherine Windsor from Imperia City."
Catherine stayed silent.
Mars chuckled, finishing his apple and glancing at the screen. "Miss, your bounty's lower than mine. Someone once put five million on my head."
Catherine was annoyed, asking, "Who posted it?"
'Seriously? My life's only worth a million?' Catherine thought.
Venus's fingers flew over the keyboard, quickly tracing the IP address. "Miss, it was Esme who posted it."
Venus now thought Esme was a complete idiot and asked, "Should we tell the Windsor family about this?"
'Given how much the Windsor family values Catherine, they'll definitely deal with Esme once they know!' Venus thought.
Catherine shook her head lightly, "No need, the Windsor family will find out."
The Windsor family had their own informants on the dark web.
Mars asked curiously, "If the Windsor family finds out, will they back you or Esme? You're their biological daughter, but Esme's been with them for years."
Mars meant no harm. They'd grown up with Catherine and considered each other family. He just didn't want to risk it—what if the Windsor family chose Esme and hurt Catherine?
Human nature was the most fragile thing!
Catherine lowered her eyes, her expression calm as she said, "That's their business, not mine."
No matter what the Windsor family chose, Catherine would protect herself in her own way!
"Miss, if they treat you badly, we'll leave!" Mars said.
"Miss, someone actually took the job!" Venus stared at the screen, eyes wide, and stood up, grabbing the sniper rifle behind him after seeing the order information. "Is Ethan out of his mind? Catherine just saved his brother, and he took the job to kill her! I'll go shoot him right now!"
In the next ward, Ethan had just taken a few orders.
As he put away his phone, the door was pushed open, and a cold gun barrel was pointed at his head!
