Chapter 307 Want to Do a Paternity Test with Juniper
Owen looked at Paloma with some uncertainty. "Who are you looking for? Juniper?"
"Yes, I just had a dream, a very long dream, and I saw Juniper in it. I want to see her." Paloma replied.
Owen was still immersed in the joy of Paloma finally waking up. "Alright, wait here. I'll call Juniper right away."
Paloma shook her head. "No rush, let her take her time. I can wait."
Paloma recalled everything she saw in the dream, feeling a bit unreal!
But she saw Juniper's life from childhood, so smart and sensible.
Even though the Windsor family treated Juniper so well, when Juniper found out she wasn't their child, she cried in hiding for a long time, and the next day acted as if nothing had happened.
Seeing Juniper secretly crying under the covers, Paloma also shed tears, feeling an indescribable heartache.
Paloma felt that she must see Juniper!
Owen quickly dialed Juniper's number and was relieved to learn that she was already on her way. "Paloma, be good and go for a check-up first. By the time the doctors are done, Juniper will be here."
Seeing Owen, with his head full of gray hair, still worrying about her, speaking in a tone as if coaxing a child.
Paloma nodded. "Dad, when I was little and sick, you used to talk to me like this."
Owen's body trembled! Hadn't Paloma forgotten those things long ago? How could she still remember things from her childhood?
Owen was shocked and worried, as the medical staff gathered around, blocking his view.
After a careful examination, Gavin whispered to the well-covered Catherine beside him, "She seems to be recovering very well, almost too well."
Catherine calmly said, "There was a paper before, studying a case where a patient's multiple personalities disappeared, and their physical ailments healed. Let's observe for now. If she recovers well, it might be a similar situation."
Thinking of this, Catherine also breathed a sigh of relief.
That case of multiple personalities had shocked the entire medical community back then!
However, due to the small sample size, there wasn't enough data to support the experiment, and the project didn't win any awards.
Gavin said in surprise, "If it's really the same situation, then we're really lucky!"
Paloma's recovery was much better than that of typical brain surgery patients. Looking at her clear and bright eyes, Gavin couldn't connect her with the previous Paloma!
After the check-up, Catherine rechecked all the medications to ensure there were no mistakes before leaving the ward with Gavin.
Gavin joked, "Now everyone almost thinks you're my assistant. How did I get so lucky!"
Catherine didn't want to walk around the hospital with her identity, and using Gavin's name, a medical authority, was very convenient.
She took off her mask, her eyes sharp, and said lightly, "If this were the border, in my territory, I wouldn't mind showing you what luck really is."
Gavin quickly shut his mouth.
Watching Catherine take off her white coat and leave, Gavin quickly called after her. "Where are you going? Didn't you say we need to discuss the follow-up plan?"
"Going to class. I'll come back later."
Gavin almost forgot that Catherine was still a college student!
Watching her leave with her backpack, Gavin suddenly thought of his own school days. He really couldn't compare!
In Paloma's ward, Juniper looked at her with some concern. "Ms. Harrison, are you feeling better?"
"Much better. Talk to me, will you?"
Seeing Paloma's gentle gaze, Juniper wanted her to rest but found it hard to refuse. "Okay, what do you want to talk about?"
"I want to know about your childhood. Can you tell me?"
Juniper shared some fun stories with Paloma, mostly about her and her brothers causing chaos at the Windsor Mansion.
"Richard wasn't good at studying. When we were kids, he would ask me to do his homework for him, paying me five hundred fate points each time, but my grandpa found out."
Paloma smiled. "Mr. Richard Windsor is much older than you, right? Juniper, you are so smart. What did Mr. Marcus Windsor say?"
"My grandpa said I was smart and gave Richard a beating."
Marcus had always favored Juniper, and still did!
"My grandpa always wanted a granddaughter. When he saw his friends had granddaughters, he would come home and scold my dad and brothers. But after I was born, he found out I was just like my brothers."
It wasn't until Catherine came along that Marcus finally lived his dream of having a granddaughter!
The biggest setback was with Lila, but Marcus had divorced her, and Juniper didn't bring it up.
Seeing the bright smile on Juniper's face, Paloma's heart warmed bit by bit. "Do your parents treat you well?"
"Very well. I'm not a Windsor by blood, but they always treat me like a biological daughter. It's wonderful."
Paloma nodded, her gaze calm and gentle. "Juniper, you might find this scary, but I had a dream. It was so real, and it matched everything you just told me."
"So, I want to ask, would you be willing to do a DNA test with me to see if you're my child?"
Juniper was momentarily speechless!
She stared at Paloma, her hands trembling. "You want to do a DNA test with me?"
"Yes, I'm a researcher, and I trust data the most. You look a lot like me, but facial resemblance doesn't prove anything." Paloma tried to keep her voice calm. "Although it's abrupt, I hope you can agree. I know I have a daughter, but I lost her. Don't cry. If I scared you, you don't have to answer right away."
Paloma was still weak, barely holding on to talk to Juniper. Seeing Juniper cry, she didn't even have the strength to wipe her tears.
Juniper realized her face was wet with tears!
She turned away to wipe her tears, feeling flustered.
Owen didn't expect Paloma to ask for a DNA test with Juniper as soon as she woke up! "Paloma, do you remember something?"
Paloma smiled weakly. "I remembered a lot, but it all feels unreal. I don't know if I was dreaming or imagining things, but in the dream, I felt Juniper should be my child."
Over the years, Paloma's illness had been recurring, and she didn't dare tell Owen about that memory in her mind! "Dad, I never told you, but I believe I have a child. She should be a girl. So I want to know, is Juniper my daughter? She looks so much like me."
