Chapter 231 Concern
"You got it all wrong," Alexander said, unbuttoning his shirt and taking a deep breath. His whole vibe was icy, with a hint of danger, and a sly grin on his lips. "I keep him around because he's still useful. Catherine's worried he might badmouth the Windsor Family. You wouldn't want Catherine stressing over you, right?"
When Charles heard it was Catherine's idea, the annoyance on his face faded.
'If it's Catherine's idea, then it's different! She is the smartest and kindest little princess in the world. Whatever she says must be right. Alexander knows how much the Windsor Family values and loves Catherine,' Charles thought.
"Catherine didn't want to worry you, so she kept this to herself. But the Howard family is complicated, and I'm concerned for her safety. Please look out for her!" Alexander's genuine concern for Catherine was clear to anyone.
Charles's expression softened. "I know what to do! I'll discreetly arrange protection for Catherine!"
'Catherine is just too naive. If the Windsor Family knew she was in such danger, they'd destroy the Howard Family! How could Catherine be so good?' Charles thought, his heart melting at Catherine's concern for them.
"Even though this is a Howard Family matter, for the sake of both Juniper and Catherine, I need to know how you plan to handle the Howard Family's affairs," Charles said.
Even if Catherine didn't marry Alexander in the future, Juniper was still a Howard. She didn't have the Howard surname yet, but Felix had added her to the family tree and planned to give her all his shares in the Howard Group, which would bring many challenges for Juniper!
Charles's tone was a bit cold. "You should understand that Juniper is as important to me as Catherine. If the Howard Family can't guarantee her safety, I might not let her return! Including Catherine, if you truly love her, you must think about her future! A daughter of the Windsor Family shouldn't marry into a dangerous family."
To be blunt, the scandal with Alexander's mother had rocked the elite circles. If Catherine suffered the same fate after marrying into the Howard Family, the entire Windsor Family would be devastated!
Just thinking about it broke Charles's heart!
Alexander knew Charles was speaking out of love and concern for Catherine and Juniper. His harsh words came from a place of care. The Howard Family incident had indeed scared him! "I've almost dealt with the Howard Family's issues. I promise that before Juniper comes home and Catherine marries me, those matters will be resolved."
"Hope so!" Getting a promise from Alexander was enough for Charles. He knew how complicated the Howard Family was and didn't ask for more details. After all, what Charles cared about were Catherine and Juniper!
After Charles hung up the phone, his calm and composed expression vanished, and he started pacing anxiously in his office.
After thinking for a long time, Charles finally called Catherine. "What are you doing? Do you miss me?"
"I'm out shopping with Emilia. What's up?"
Hearing Catherine's calm voice, Charles finally felt a bit more at ease.
He'd never been this anxious, not even during billion-dollar international deals. But when it came to Catherine, he was sweating bullets! "Nothing much, just remember to tell me if anything happens! And if you run out of money while shopping, just call me!"
Charles hung up and immediately transferred some money to Catherine.
Seeing the bank transfer notification and remembering Charles's earlier tone, Catherine quickly figured out that Alexander must have told Charles about the attack she had faced.
Charles didn't ask her directly, probably because he didn't want her to worry about the Windsor Family.
This was so typical of Charles's way of showing concern!
Emilia peeked at the message on Catherine's phone, her face twisting with envy. "Catherine, does your brother need another sister? How about me?"
Catherine glanced at her and chuckled. "Charles doesn't need another sister, but he does need a girlfriend. Interested?"
Emilia's face turned bright red as she waved her hands frantically. "No way! Your family is too smart; I can't bring down your family's gene pool!"
Thinking about her own grades, it would be too embarrassing to be with the Windsor Family.
Emilia touched her flushed face and quickly changed the subject. "Catherine, we still haven't found the person who sent me that message."
Emilia hadn't forgotten their original reason for coming to the antique street, which was to find the person who claimed to have her mother's belongings.
Catherine glanced at Uranus, who was buried in data processing on his computer. "Have you found the person? I've already played two rounds of games. What's taking you so long?"
Feeling Catherine's icy stare, Uranus quickly closed the game page on his computer and switched to the data.
He almost got caught playing games by Catherine, but the new game developed by the Galactic Aurora Collective was just too addictive.
"Found him! That guy is now Ezekiel's assistant, named Solon Dunn," Uranus said.
Emilia nodded. "Yeah, he used to be with Blade of Dusk. But how did he end up as Ezekiel's assistant?"
Emilia wondered whether it was Solon or Ezekiel who had called her to the antique street. Neither seemed to have a reason to do so.
"Miss, Vincent wants you to report to school next week," Uranus said.
Catherine raised an eyebrow. "Vincent went to Imperial University?"
"Looks like it. Vincent wants you to meet him at school tomorrow. He seems pretty urgent. By the way, I wish I could experience school life!" Uranus said.
Catherine looked at him silently.
The kids from the Galactic Aurora Collective had no school experience. Once chosen, they left their families and underwent endless experiments.
It made sense that Uranus and the others wanted to go to school with her.
Catherine stood up. "Don't worry, I'll keep the promises I made to you."
Catherine was determined to help the Galactic Aurora Collective members return to a normal life. Even if they were already trapped in darkness, she would guide them towards the light.
Uranus grinned, feeling deeply moved.
It proved that they had followed the right person. No matter what Catherine did, she would always be the leader of the Galactic Aurora Collective!
