Chapter 134 Catherine is Really Tempting
Catherine turned slightly, feeling Alexander's presence, his dominant aura wrapping around her.
"Let go," she said.
"Just a sec. You don't wanna disturb anyone, right?"
'How am I the one disturbing others?' she thought.
Alexander held Catherine, his arms snug around her waist. "Look, Aurora and Grandpa Samuel are still in the garden."
Samuel loved plants and suddenly remembered the night-blooming cereus in the Windsor Mansion. He eagerly got up to see them, and Aurora, unable to dissuade him, just tagged along.
Catherine's room was on the second floor, giving the best view. With a slight lean, they could see most of the Windsor Mansion, and anyone in the garden could see them on the balcony.
If the Windsor family saw Alexander holding her like this, Catherine couldn't imagine the fallout. "If you let go, it won't bother anyone."
Alexander's grip tightened, his breath hot on Catherine's neck. "But I don't wanna let go."
'Does Catherine not get how attractive she is to me? Just seeing her makes my heart race. At this rate, just holding her won't be enough!' Alexander thought.
To avoid causing a scene, Catherine stayed quiet and didn't push Alexander away, just letting him hold her.
His heart pressed against her back, their heartbeats syncing up. The intense masculine scent around her made Catherine's face flush, as she wondered why her heartbeat matched Alexander's.
After five minutes, Catherine finally spoke, "Is that enough?"
Alexander reluctantly let go, saying with a hint of danger, "Just five minutes? You underestimate me."
Alexander's smile had a mysterious danger, like he could devour the obedient Catherine, but he knew she wasn't fragile. Even if he couldn't resist, he had to control himself.
The night was deep, and Alexander felt the beast within him awakening! She was too tempting, making him unable to pull away.
Catherine's ears turned red! She felt there was more to Alexander's words, and meeting his intense gaze, she felt like she was burning up.
Alexander took her hand, leaning on the balcony railing with her. "When do you plan to tell Marcus about Esme?"
"What did you find out?" she asked.
"I found out what you did."
Catherine pursed her lips. "I suspect Lila's sudden illness tonight is because of something Esme did."
"I think the same as you." Alexander's hand restlessly squeezed Catherine's palm. "From tonight, it seems Esme doesn't wanna leave Imperia City and is trying to delay."
Catherine glanced at him. "Do you care about her?"
"Of course not. Why would I care about her? I only care about you." Meeting Catherine's gaze, Alexander found her especially adorable, thinking, 'How could she think I care about Esme? In my eyes, Esme is insignificant!'
"It's just that she always shows up and messes with my time with you, which is annoying." The time Alexander managed to carve out to be with Catherine wasn't meant for unrelated people!
Catherine said calmly, "Whether she wants to leave has nothing to do with me."
'But the Windsor family has the right to know the things Esme did,' she thought.
"I support all your decisions," Alexander said.
"You can go now. My grandfather has been watching you for a while."
In the garden, Samuel had been coughing, watching Alexander and Catherine holding hands on the balcony. He thought, 'This Alexander, I've given him plenty of time to date, why is he still lingering?'
Alexander chuckled, bending down to place a goodnight kiss on Catherine's hand. "Goodnight."
His actions were always so gentlemanly and proper, leaving no room for criticism. After the kiss, Alexander turned and left Catherine's room, walking to the garden to say a few words to Samuel.
From Catherine's angle, she could see Alexander bending down, talking to Samuel about the night-blooming cereus, making Samuel laugh heartily in just a few words.
Aurora stood aside, her eyes full of affection, looking more satisfied with Alexander than her own sons!
Such a high and mighty person like Alexander could also get along so harmoniously with her family for her.
Catherine suddenly remembered that Alexander said he would love her family!
The lights in the opposite villa soon lit up, and Alexander stood on his balcony, looking at Catherine with a gentle and warm smile. He thought just watching her across a garden wasn't as good as holding her just now. But to make her willing to live with him, he had to wait until after they got married!
Charles walked into Catherine's room, pulled the curtains with a stern face, and gave Alexander a warning look. "Mr. Howard seems very idle? Catherine, do you want to move to the other side, so you won't be disturbed?"
"No need, moving around is troublesome." She was used to this room.
"Catherine, don't be fooled by Alexander!" Charles reminded.
Catherine was a bit puzzled. "Charles, what could he deceive me about?"
Facing Catherine's clear eyes, Charles was suddenly stunned!
'I can't just tell Catherine that Alexander has some deeper, more intimate thoughts about you. Saying that will definitely scare Catherine!' Charles thought for a moment, then simply moved a chair to sit beside Catherine. "Catherine, do you like him?"
'Feelings of liking seem to have been absent for many years, let alone liking someone. But I don't reject Alexander's approach and his protection in danger, and am even willing to entrust my back to him. It should be liking, right? When he holds me, I also feel my heart race, but is that love?' Catherine thought for a moment and chose to answer honestly. "I don't know, but I don't dislike him."
Charles was tearful, always feeling like Catherine was being taken away, but he still forced a kind smile. "Well, as long as you're happy. If he bullies you, remember to tell me."
"I know."
Charles patted Catherine's hair and said seriously, "How's Lila?"
"In the ICU. Charles, I want to ask you a question."
"Go ahead. I'll tell you everything."
Catherine looked at Charles seriously. "I want to know what you think of Lila."
The Windsor family's attitude towards Lila would determine whether Catherine would tell them what she had found out!
