Chapter 255 Richard Was Kidnapped by Fans
At the entrance of the lab, Juniper was squatting on the ground, her short hair all messed up from her own scratching.
Not far behind her stood the head of the lab. "Juniper, this is on us. We'll make sure to keep our employees in check. Please, don't quit so easily!"
Juniper's talent in scientific research was well-known in the industry. Getting to this position at such a young age was partly thanks to the Windsor Family, but it was also due to her own hard work and smarts. Even among geniuses, Juniper stood out!
"I won't accept your resignation! Both I and the country need you to keep shining in your role!" The lab head's words were firm and serious.
Juniper stood up, dusting off her hands, and pointed to a formula on the ground. "I rechecked my previous data, and there's no problem."
The head was stunned! He thought Juniper was too upset and was just doodling on the ground to curse those people, but she was actually recalculating data.
"I came here because the lab's research projects match my expertise, not to deal with petty conflicts." Juniper glanced indifferently at the sweating boss. "I'm not quitting easily; my younger sister told me there's no need to put up with this. Someone cursed me to my face, and I can't curse back? They're idiots, and I have to tolerate them? Why?"
The boss was speechless, thinking Juniper should tolerate those interns. With her family background and status, she shouldn't have to bother with those fresh graduates!
Juniper kicked the suitcase beside her. "Sorry, they're older than me! We're all new to this, and I'm not here to babysit them. If the lab can't handle these issues, then I think you're not competent."
Juniper was the first to tell the boss to his face that he was incompetent.
The boss was also angry. "Juniper, what do you mean by this? Don't think that just because you're from the Windsor Family, you can do whatever you want in the scientific community! Those are just fresh graduates. They aren't considerate, but how can you not be considerate either? Get back to work with me now! The lab is a mess because of you all. If you come back with me now, I can still let bygones be bygones!"
Juniper rolled her eyes. She looked at the Cullinan parked not far away, and Charles was already walking towards her.
The lab head's eyes flickered. He recognized Charles but didn't expect him to come for such a small matter, wondering whether Juniper wasn't just an adopted daughter of the Windsor Family.
Charles walked up, didn't ask anything, picked up Juniper's suitcase with one hand and held her with the other. "Let's go home."
"Okay!"
The car door opened and closed, leaving the exhaust fumes at the entrance of the research institute. Not a single extra glance was given to the lab head!
Charles asked, "What happened?"
Juniper sniffed, shrugged indifferently. "A few fresh graduates told me to get out of the lab to my face. It's not a big deal, but they stole my unpublished research data and said my data was flawed and I was unworthy."
Those interns, with some kind of reckless background, spoke very harshly.
They said Juniper was an abandoned child of the Windsor Family, shamelessly staying with them, trying to replace the biological daughter, and that even her own parents didn't want her. They called her a foundling.
After saying this, Juniper lowered her head, her tone sullen. "Sorry, Charles, for causing you trouble."
Charles frowned, his voice a bit stern. "When did this start, and how long has it been going on? Why didn't you tell us?"
"It started when I first joined the lab. I didn't want to cause trouble for the family," Juniper said.
"What do you mean by causing trouble? Don't say that! I'll contact your supervisor. Don't worry!"
"Thank you, Charles."
Juniper was in low spirits, her eyes red, looking like she had cried secretly. Seeing her like this, Charles felt a headache coming on.
Juniper was not much older than Catherine, still a kid, needing family support, yet she bore everything herself. But Charles just patted Juniper's hair, saying nothing, thinking it was time to have a good talk with the Howard Family about this.
Cloudscape Villa.
The helicopter's roar swept through the small village, stirring up a layer of wind. Catherine took off her helmet, unbuckled her seatbelt, her cold eyes a bit complicated.
Just as she walked out of the school gate, she saw Alexander waiting at the entrance, realizing his car had been there all morning. She wondered when he became so idle, just to wait for her to finish school.
When he heard she had to go back to the village, Alexander insisted on coming along! Seeing Alexander ask Annie to call Charles to report, Catherine swallowed her refusal. The Windsor Family knowing she was with Alexander would indeed be more reassuring!
Alexander was injured, and Catherine was the pilot on the way. Getting off the helicopter, Venus came up to meet them. "Miss, Richard has been staying at Cloudscape Villa for the past few days, but a few days ago he encountered some fans."
Richard, a hugely popular star in the entertainment industry with over a hundred million fans, indeed had many crazy stalker fans. If it weren't for the Windsor Family's status, those people might have come to the door. Aurora said that in Richard's early years, fans would wait outside the Windsor Mansion without leaving!
Seeing Catherine, Richard's manager looked like he saw a savior! "Ms. Windsor, those stalkers must have found out Richard was filming in the mountains, with less security than in the city, and actually hid around Cloudscape Villa. Some even climbed onto the roof at night."
Cloudscape Villa was an old house, not very tall, so climbing onto the roof at night was possible. Hearing this, Catherine frowned! "Didn't Richard sue those people?"
"He did, and there weren't that many left, mostly just some harassing texts, so Richard didn't take it seriously."
Richard himself didn't expect someone to climb onto his room's roof at night! Catherine walked into Cloudscape Villa, many tiles on the second floor had fallen off.
When Richard stayed at Cloudscape Villa, he asked Catherine's permission to sleep in her room, and Elodie's room next door was given to Sophia. Venus said, "I also heard Sophia's cry for help, but couldn't find anyone when I arrived."
'Sophia has once won a kickboxing championship. Now she and Richard are both missing. Ordinary entertainment fans can't possibly do this!' Catherine thought.
