Chapter 214 Catherine and Alexander Meet for the First Time

Alexander grinned and locked eyes with Catherine's icy stare. "Shall we chat on the way?"

His look was intense, making Catherine shift uncomfortably. "If you don't care about your health, there's nothing I can do."

So, she let him tag along to pick someone up!

Alkaid, fresh from vacation, parked in front of Starry Residence and watched Catherine and Nightfall hop into the car together. Her eyes nearly bulged out. 'Wasn't Nightfall at the border just a few days ago? How is he back already? And he's holding Catherine's hand the whole time. The craziest part is that Catherine isn't shaking him off or chopping his hand off! Did I miss some major plot twist while I was away from Imperia City?'

"Let's go, time to pick someone up," Catherine said.

Vincent Hall, the Violin master, had arrived in Imperia City today, and his schedule was top secret.

Given Vincent's status, if his schedule got out, it would cause quite a buzz!

"Alright, I heard someone in Imperia City has been selling nephrite recently, and the prices are sky-high," Alkaid said.

"That stuff isn't worth much," Catherine replied.

Nephrite was from the top of a snowy mountain, and its real value was medicinal. The Windsor Family had a big chunk of it, which they spent a fortune on and placed in Marcus's bedroom.

To outsiders, it was a prized item, but to folks from the Galactic Aurora Collective, it was just a fancy decoration!

The world's biggest supplier of nephrite was the Galactic Aurora Collective!

Alkaid shrugged. "Someone said it could cure cancer, so it's been hyped up again recently. There are even people selling fakes."

All the nephrite production was controlled by the Galactic Aurora Collective. Catherine had no idea when so much nephrite started popping up in Imperia City.

Most of it was probably fake or low-quality junk.

Too many people were taking advantage of the rich but clueless folks in Imperia City.

Catherine glanced at the financial report on her phone. The violin shop's business had picked up a lot recently. It seemed like many people were interested in nephrite, even the sales of violins with nephrite accessories have greatly increased.

It looked like Catherine would need to visit the violin shop after picking up the person, or things would get chaotic again.

On the way to the airport, Alexander held Catherine's hand, a smile playing on his lips as he thought, 'Nephrite is worthless to her, which means the Galactic Aurora Collective's business is even bigger than I thought. If this keeps up, I'll have to step up my game, or Catherine might outdo me!'

"Our first meeting was in Northern Myanterra. Do you remember? It was during a gang war among some drug lords in Northern Myanterra, and I got caught up in it." Maybe because he was still sick, Alexander's voice sounded even more magnetic than usual, low and resonant in the car. "At that time, I was investigating my mother's case and had infiltrated Northern Myanterra. Some people from the Howard Family had business there. They set a trap to kill me. Everyone I brought was wiped out, and you saved me."

That was probably the lowest point in Alexander's life! He was deeply affected by witnessing his mother die without being able to do anything. He wanted to investigate the matter himself and avenge his mother.

As he was trapped and thought he would soon meet his mother, Catherine swooped down from the sky and saved him!

Alexander held Catherine's hand, lost in his memories. "Catherine, you might not believe it, but I saw them kill my mother. I didn't dare make a sound, and she didn't dare look at me before she died. Every night, I dream of that scene, of her falling covered in blood."

Alexander chuckled softly. "Then, you saved me."

From the moment Catherine fired that shot, from the moment she reached out to him, he never had that nightmare again! Instead, he dreamed of those clear eyes that saved him from danger.

Alexander brought Catherine's hand to his lips and gently brushed it. "To me, you are my salvation."

That word "salvation" was too intense for Catherine, making the spot where Alexander's lips touched her palm feel hot.

"Did the Howard Family investigate?" she asked.

"Of course, they must have found out a lot of things they couldn't tell me. They investigated for a long time but eventually told me to stop."

'It doesn't matter; I will find out myself! Even Felix was shocked by my cunning and strategy after returning from the border. The massive conglomerate operates under my control, and even giants have to bow before me!' he thought.

Alexander turned slightly, his gaze falling on Catherine, his pupils burning with intensity. "There are many things I haven't done well. Can you give me a chance to make it right?"

Alexander didn't know how to interact with girls, relying only on his instincts to get close to her! He had lost the most important person once and didn't want to lose another.

Catherine's heart skipped a beat, but she replied calmly, "Got it."

The smile on Alexander's face grew warmer and more tender.

Alkaid, driving, could barely contain her laughter.

'I thought Catherine had tricked Nightfall, but it turns out Nightfall is the one relentlessly pursuing her! However, I also know that winning over someone from the Galactic Aurora Collective won't be easy. Catherine has experienced too much darkness and has long hidden her heart away. Getting her to share her joys and sorrows will be very difficult!' Alkaid thought.

Hospital.

Juniper pushed Owen into the VIP ward. Tiberius, half-reclining on the bed, looked pale but still carried an air of elegance. "Grandpa, you're here."

"It's good that you're awake. Prof. Davis said you're recovering well. Cooperate with the doctors, and you'll be able to go home soon," Owen said.

Tiberius's gaze fell on Juniper, who was following Owen. "And who is this?"

Owen didn't hide anything and briefly explained Juniper's situation. "From now on, Juniper is your young sister. Don't tell Paloma for now; she's had another episode and was hospitalized yesterday."

Paloma's health couldn't handle any shocks. If they told her about Juniper's identity, Owen feared she wouldn't be able to accept it!

Tiberius looked at Juniper with a bit of surprise but quickly accepted the situation. "Juniper, I'm Tiberius. It's nice to become family with you."

Tiberius suppressed his shock, his eyes flickering. "I remember last time, there was a lady with you. Is that the Windsor Family's daughter? Why isn't she here today?"

Juniper nodded. "Yes, that's my sister, Catherine. She has an engagement with Mr. Howard. She's probably on a date with Mr. Howard today."

Juniper had hurried out of the house to avoid being set up on a blind date by Aurora.

The smile on Tiberius's face faded as he thought, 'Mr. Howard? Did she mean Alexander, the CEO of the Howard Group?'

Tiberius muttered to himself, "Engagements in wealthy families are just for show."

Airport overpass.

Alkaid looked in the rearview mirror and pouted. "Miss, we're being followed!"
Both Princess and Queen
