Chapter 359 Monkey Beats Up Franklin
Franklin showing up here didn't catch Marcus off guard.
Given their past, Franklin was bound to pay his respects to Elodie.
But seeing him dressed like that, Marcus couldn't help but chuckle.
Did Franklin really think looking a bit scruffy would make Elodie feel sorry for him?
Seriously, at his age, he should know better than to pull stunts like this!
Franklin shot Catherine a cold, sharp look.
"Marcus, you've got quite the granddaughter!"
Seeing Franklin's hostile glare, Charles stepped in front of Catherine protectively.
George cracked his knuckles and grinned, "Mr. Morales, what brings you here? If your eyesight's going, our hospital can definitely set you up with an appointment!"
Richard waved his hand, and the security guards around the cemetery all focused on Franklin.
Philip chimed in, "Mr. Morales, as a teacher, you should watch your words. Catherine's not in the best health and gets scared easily. We wouldn't want to frighten her, right?"
Alexander held Catherine's hand, his gaze icy.
"Mr. Morales, are you really gonna try to scare a young girl now?"
Franklin was so mad at the Windsor family's united front that he was almost speechless!
They hadn't seen what Catherine was capable of when she took action!
What kind of frail, timid daughter would dig a massive pit filled with venomous snakes for him?
Yet the Windsor family protected her as if she were a treasure!
Franklin snapped, "Do you even know what Catherine has done? She..."
Catherine calmly cut him off, "Mr. Morales, are you planning to tell my grandmother about my school activities right here?"
"The deceased are gone, but unlike some living people, they aren't blinded by trivialities. My grandmother saw through Mr. Morales' actions."
Franklin swallowed his words.
Catherine continued, "Mr. Morales, you twist the truth at school, and now you want to do the same in front of my grandmother's grave?"
Marcus chimed in, "Franklin, if you're here to pay respects to Elodie, fine. But if you're here to cause trouble for Catherine, you should leave! The Windsor family doesn't welcome people like you!"
That was a clear order to leave.
A direct demand for Franklin to get out!
"Marcus, I'm here to take Elodie away!"
Everyone froze at his words.
Take Elodie away? What was he talking about?
Brandon frowned, "Mr. Morales, my mom's been laid to rest. Where do you plan on taking her?"
Franklin brushed the dirt off his clothes.
"Elodie and I were once married. It's only right for me to take her remains."
The crowd fell into an eerie silence.
George spoke with a complex expression, "Mr. Morales doesn't seem mentally ill... yet he's spouting nonsense?"
Franklin claimed he was married to Elodie just to take her away!
It was shocking to everyone.
Franklin pulled out a document from his pocket, an old certificate with Franklin and Elodie's names, stamped with an official seal.
It was their marriage certificate from back in the day!
"I'm here to take my lawful wife. Is there a problem?"
Seeing the document, the Windsor family was stunned!
Marcus jumped up from his chair, eyes locked on the marriage certificate in Franklin's hand.
Back then, marriage procedures were a hassle, but the names were definitely Elodie and Franklin.
Catherine spoke up, her voice icy, "How do you prove this is legit? With today's tech, anything can be faked. And if my grandma was your wife, why didn't you come looking for her all these years?"
"I thought Elodie had passed away, so I didn't look for her!"
"But you saw my grandma a few years ago. Why didn't you mention your marriage then? Are you losing it, Mr. Morales, forgetting something so big?"
Franklin was stumped!
He glanced at Catherine.
"How do you know I saw Elodie a few years ago... Did Elodie tell you?"
"That's not the point. What matters is that today, no one is taking my grandma away. Mr. Morales, you might want to rethink this."
Facing Catherine's fiery and cold stare, Franklin realized he had really ticked her off!
"You... you really want to go against me? Catherine, if you join my team, we could run the world!"
Franklin's words dripped with arrogance!
Catherine laughed coldly, her eyes full of disdain as she looked at Franklin.
"Us? I wouldn't team up with someone like you!"
Teaming up with Franklin would only lead to disaster!
"My grandma worked with you, and look where it got her. Owen worked with you and ended up just a pawn. With so many warnings, why would I work with you?"
Elodie and Owen were once Franklin's partners.
And now?
One passed away, unable to rest in peace.
The other's family fell into decline, struggling to continue their legacy.
Franklin gritted his teeth, "What does that have to do with me? They chose to leave! If they'd stayed in my lab, none of this would have happened!"
Catherine had no intention of reasoning with Franklin.
Anyone who could create a project as horrific as the Galactic Aurora Collective was a twisted maniac at heart!
Brandon stepped forward, his gaze firm.
"Mr. Morales, you bring a sketchy document here to take my mom away? Forget it! If you insist on making a move, the Windsor family won't hesitate to keep you here."
"My mom suffered enough in her life, and you want to take her remains? Also, I'll publicly report you! Someone like you shouldn't be the president of Imperial University!"
Franklin shook the certificate in his hand.
Suddenly, a monkey appeared out of nowhere, snatching the certificate from Franklin and tearing it to shreds quickly!
It even pushed Franklin to the ground, taunting him with a cheeky gesture!
After its mischief, the monkey grabbed the fruit platter from Brad's hands and vanished into the cemetery with a few swift leaps!
The Windsor family was stunned.
Everything happened so quickly, they barely had time to react!
Juniper tugged on Brad's sleeve, "Brad, how did you know a monkey would show up? Do you know them?"
Brad calmly looked away from his sleeve, his fingers resting on his clothes, seemingly bothered by more than just the fabric...
"I heard them. Eternal Light Cathedral has several monkey groups. I'm familiar with them."
"Them?"
