Chapter 215 Alexander Warns Tiberius
On the overpass, a sleek Cullinan was being tailed by a car not too far behind.
Alkaid, the go-to tracker at the Galactic Aurora Collective, had a knack for sensing things others missed.
Catherine gave a slight nod. "How long have they been on our tail?"
"Five minutes, ever since we hit the overpass," Alkaid replied.
Catherine's phone buzzed with a new message.
After Alkaid sensed something fishy about the car, she snapped a pic of the license plate and sent the owner's info to Catherine.
"Tiberius? Isn't he still in the hospital?" Catherine wondered, thinking, 'Why is Tiberius's car following me? Did he figure out I was the one who operated on him last time?'
The message also included the car's recent driving records, showing it was parked at Heritage Storage Depot last night, right near the underground boxing arena!
In all these years, this was the first time someone had tailed Catherine!
"Miss, should we lose them?"
"No need, let's act like we haven't noticed. If he's suspicious of me, no point in giving him more to go on," Catherine said.
Alexander's eyes narrowed, thinking, 'Is someone really trying to mess with my fiancée right in front of me?'
"Do you know Tiberius?" he asked.
Catherine shook her head. "Nope, just happened to be there and did surgery on him last time."
Tiberius, a big shot from the Harrison Family, had taken over most of the family business and made a name for himself in the antique world at a young age!
Now, the Harrison Family business had doubled since Owen's time, all thanks to Tiberius.
But the shady deals far outnumbered the legit ones!
Alexander's expression turned icy. "With Tiberius's smarts, he probably suspects you were the one who did the surgery."
Catherine shrugged. "Let him think what he wants. I'm not admitting anything."
"Why? Scared of trouble?"
"Yeah, I don't know him, and I'm worried he'll report me for not having a medical license."
Alexander was a bit taken aback but then chuckled, his chest vibrating with laughter. Catherine could feel his joy and wondered, 'Is it really that funny? I was just making a casual remark.'
Alexander knew she was joking. Tiberius, being an international figure, would probably be thrilled to know the famous Phantom Doctor Moon had operated on him.
But Alexander loved Catherine's way of keeping clear boundaries with others! After laughing enough, he looked at Catherine. "If you're worried about trouble, let me handle it."
Alexander pulled out his phone and dialed a number. Holding Catherine's hand, he coldly instructed the person on the other end, "Warn Tiberius. He's crossing the line."
"Yes, sir."
On the other end, Tiberius, who got the message, looked at his phone and raised an eyebrow with a smile.
'Looks like Alexander is in that car too and noticed my move. With Alexander's sharpness, it's no surprise he caught on. The car I arranged isn't meant to do anything right now,' Tiberius thought.
"Withdraw," Tiberius said, putting down his phone with a smile. "Just letting them know I'm around is enough for now. No rush for anything else."
'I'll pick a better time to get to know Catherine!' Tiberius thought.
The car behind soon got the order and exited the overpass at the next intersection.
Alkaid glanced at the rearview mirror. "Miss, they're gone. Tiberius is really something. Why would he use his own car to follow you? Isn't that just giving himself away?"
Alkaid was baffled by this logic!
Alexander frowned. "Tiberius coming back now is odd, probably has something to do with the nephrite market."
Catherine shrugged it off. "Doesn't matter."
'Whatever Tiberius is up to has nothing to do with me, but if he tries to use the Galactic Aurora Collective's name to sell fake nephrite, he's in for a rude awakening!' Catherine thought.
Just then, Juniper called Catherine. "You know Tiberius, right? He asked for your contact info, and I told him to buzz off!"
Tiberius had tried to get Catherine's contact info from Juniper, but she shut him down immediately.
"I'm not close to him. Who knows what he's after!" Juniper said.
Catherine didn't hide the call from Alexander, who chimed in, "Juniper, isn't Tiberius kind of like your brother?"
"Brother? I've got more brothers than I need! Including the Howard Family, I've got almost ten brothers now, and you're one of them, Mr. Howard. Take good care of Catherine, or I'll be down one brother soon!" Juniper joked.
"Having lots of brothers is great, losing a few won't hurt," Alexander said.
'Anyone wanting to get close to Catherine needs my approval first! Catherine is so gentle, kind, pure, and lovely. If it weren't for her engagement with Alexander, he wouldn't have had a chance to get close to her. Catherine is the most important, and those so-called brothers who I barely know don't count for much! Even if Tiberius has no bad intentions, he won't get Catherine's contact info from me,' Juniper thought.
Juniper's threats were just jokes to Alexander, and he didn't take them seriously. "Alright, I'll definitely take good care of Catherine."
The Windsor Family treated Catherine like a child, even though she was more than capable of handling herself!
Even for something small, Juniper would call to inform her, and Catherine felt a warm feeling in her heart.
At the airport terminal exit, Alkaid greeted an elderly man who looked surprisingly youthful and helped him into the car.
Vincent chuckled, looking at Catherine and Alexander in the back seat. "Catherine, aren't you going to introduce us?"
"You must have done your homework before coming," Catherine said.
"That's different. Your introduction and my investigation are two different things." Ever since they found out Catherine had a fiancé, these old men had thoroughly investigated Alexander, thinking he looked decent, like a good person.
Catherine had no choice but to introduce them. "This is Alexander, and this is my teacher, Vincent."
Vincent smiled elegantly. "Like Catherine, I'm also an assassin, and I see you're injured. You recently took down the Abyssal Blades, causing quite a stir."
The Abyssal Blades, the third-ranked assassin organization on the dark web, had its three leaders taken down, and the news had spread like wildfire.
Alexander smirked. "I can't hide anything from you."
'It's no surprise Alexander went after the Abyssal Blades. The Thunderstrike Mercenaries' entry into the country is largely due to the Abyssal Blades, and Alexander got injured at Heritage Storage Depot. This debt can't go unpaid!' Catherine thought.
"You're as ruthless as Catherine, but I do have something to ask you." The temperature inside the car seemed to drop instantly, and Vincent's words were filled with probing and caution! "What were you planning to do at the Galactic Aurora Collective ruins?"
