Chapter 342 Give Catherine a Show of Force
Inside the lab, George's secretary, Lily, smiled as she poured two glasses of water.
"Mr. Windsor's knee-deep in an experiment right now. Hang tight for a bit."
Philip and Juniper were no strangers to this lab.
Juniper waved her hand dismissively. "No worries, you go ahead. I'll just poke around."
Being in the research field herself, Juniper knew what could and couldn't be touched.
"The gear in George's lab is top-notch!"
No wonder it's the leading medical lab in the country.
Lily chuckled. "Still, it can't quite compare to the Galactic Aurora Collective's medical lab. Mr. Windsor couldn't stop raving about it after his visit."
Juniper looked puzzled.
"What kind of equipment does the Galactic Aurora Collective have?"
"The latest. Mr. Windsor saw the Howard Group's logo on it. They must have made it, and then the Galactic Aurora Collective tweaked it. It's the most precise medical lab equipment in the country right now."
Juniper raised an eyebrow.
"The Howard Group's products?"
The Howard Group's business scope is vast, but buying medical lab equipment worth billions just like that? Impressive!
George's lab certainly has the resources!
George, wearing a lab coat, emerged from the inner lab.
The lab had a back door, and once he got word that the Windsor family was looking for him, he returned through it.
Inigo was already lying on the operating table.
George instructed his assistant, "If he's a tough nut, skip the anesthesia."
"Mr. Windsor, are you really gonna perform a vasectomy on him?"
George replied coldly, "Just scaring him will do."
Actually performing a vasectomy on someone like Inigo would be a waste of his lab's surgical tools.
The assistant worriedly asked, "But if he finds out he can still have kids later, won't Ms. Hughes be in danger?"
George shook his head.
"I'm not planning to keep him around that long. I've got all the evidence of his crimes ready. I'm gonna use him to clean up the Blade of Dusk!"
The best place for Inigo is still prison!
George masked the coldness in his eyes with a warm smile as he approached his waiting family.
"Philip, Juniper, sorry for the hassle. I forgot to tell Mom and Dad about my impromptu experiment!"
Juniper waved it off. "No problem, George. Dad was just worried, so he sent us. Where's Emilia?"
"She's outside with Catherine."
"As long as you're okay! George, I noticed an experiment report here that seemed a bit like Alioth's style."
George raised an eyebrow. "Alioth? How would I have her stuff here?"
Juniper was puzzled too.
She had studied all of Alioth's reports and was familiar with her methods.
But the report was signed by Gavin.
Could Alioth's methods have changed over the past two years?
Radiant Treasures.
The grand and bright jewelry company had its general manager's office door open. The secretary craned her neck several times but didn't see Catherine.
A middle-aged man with a coffee cup passed by, scoffing, "She's just a woman. Why all the fuss? Just find an excuse to get rid of her!"
The secretary, dressed in a business suit, retorted, "Tony Gibson! Ms. Windsor is the owner of the company. Show some respect!"
Tony, a mid-level manager, rolled his eyes.
"Just because she studied jewelry design in college, she thinks she can boss us around. Life's turning point really is the amniotic fluid. Some people are just born lucky," Tony sneered, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
The secretary ignored him, her eyes lighting up as a girl walked through the door.
Long legs, white canvas shoes with hand-painted floral designs, and a slightly student-like dress with a casual shoulder bag—Catherine had arrived!
The secretary had expected Catherine to wear a tailored suit on her first day, but she looked just like a student after class. Yet those cold eyes swept over, and the secretary, who had been admiring Catherine's porcelain-like skin, shivered under her gaze.
Quickly stepping forward, she bowed slightly. "Ms. Windsor, I'm your secretary, Mira Collins. Just call me Mira. Welcome to the company. Would you like me to set up a meeting?"
Catherine glanced around at the company's structure, her gaze sweeping over the onlookers. She composed herself and said calmly, "No need. I'm just here to look around. Is everyone standing here planning to do some calisthenics?"
The employees were curious or anxious about Catherine's visit, but she didn't pay them any mind.
Tony stepped in to smooth things over. "Ms. Windsor, everyone just wanted to welcome you. Our company has a relaxed atmosphere; we don't require employees to stay at their desks all the time."
Catherine gave him a look.
Mira quickly introduced, "This is Tony, the head of the design department, mainly responsible for the new season's jewelry designs."
Catherine nodded. "Tony, got it. Let me ask, which company policy states that break time is in front of the general manager's office?"
"If the break room and lounge are just for show, they can be removed."
Tony rubbed his nose, a bit embarrassed. He had intended to curry favor with the new boss and get the staff on his side, but Catherine had turned the tables on him!
Tony glanced at Catherine, then turned and left with his coffee cup.
Entering her office, Catherine sat at her desk. Her phone buzzed with messages. She had gotten home late last night, and Brandon had woken up just to give George a piece of his mind. It was mostly about how George hadn't informed the family about his experiment and had let Emilia go hungry with him. Without disturbing Aurora, Brandon had told George to bring Emilia home for dinner tonight.
Catherine, prompted by Samuel, had come to the company to check things out! She knew Samuel was worried about her being upset over school matters and wanted to give her something to focus on.
Mira handed Catherine a financial report, which she set aside. "Give me the employee information. I'll look at the financials later."
"Sure thing."
As Catherine began reviewing the personnel structure of Radiant Treasures, a commotion erupted in the hallway.
"What's going on?"
Mira stepped out to check, scolding, "Tony, why are you holding a meeting now?"
It was not right to hold an impromptu meeting when the new boss had just arrived!
Tony shrugged it off with a smile. "It's just a routine design department meeting. No need to involve Ms. Windsor; she's only a freshman. I'm worried she won't understand."
Mira caught on! 'Isn't this just a blatant attempt to intimidate the new boss?'
