Chapter 337 Emilia and George Have Been Kidnapped

For so many years, this was the first time a child had been so close to her!

Juniper's short hair brushed against Arabella's face, tickling her, much like the joy Juniper had sparked in her heart.

Feeling Juniper's affection, Arabella's face showed a hint of reproach, but she couldn't suppress the smile at the corners of her mouth.

"What are you doing? Hugging and holding like this, I'm leaving! Brad, what are you staring at? Come on, I have something to discuss with you!"

"Alright, Arabella."

Juniper knew Arabella didn't like crowded scenes, so she didn't insist that Arabella stay for dinner.

As Arabella walked out of The Windsor Mansion, the smile on her face hadn't faded.

Seeing Arabella beside him, constantly touching her own face and smiling, Brad found it unbelievable!

He had known Arabella for so many years, and it was the first time he had seen her with such an expression.

Contentment, happiness, joy, kindness—all these emotions flooded in like a tidal wave!

Brad waved his hand in front of Arabella.

"Arabella, snap out of it. If you're happy, why not just tell Juniper directly?"

"What do you know? At my age, I'm practically on my way out."

Arabella was naturally carefree.

Such people are often solitary and eccentric by nature, not fond of socializing.

She didn't want to build too deep a bond with Juniper now, fearing that after she was gone, those emotions would turn into painful memories for Juniper.

Brad thought carefully and said seriously, "With Juniper's personality, even if your bond isn't deep, she won't forget you, Arabella."

Just the fact that Arabella had stormed into The Windsor Villa to defend her against Lila's baseless accusations would make Juniper remember Arabella's kindness forever!

Arabella was slightly taken aback, then touched her cheek again.

"Is that so... Indeed, Juniper is a good kid who values relationships."

Everything she did was worth it in the end!

Brad was a bit puzzled. "Is Juniper's way of expressing gratitude and joy through hugs? If she's grateful to me too, why doesn't she hug me?"

Arabella kicked Brad.

"Shameless!"

Brad didn't understand. He was just asking for equal treatment from Juniper; how did that make him shameless?

Entering the Howard Mansion, Arabella looked around for a long time but couldn't find Felix. After searching upstairs for a while, she noticed the study door was ajar.

Felix coughed several times.

It seemed he was on the phone with someone.

"I know, I give myself injections every day, it's fine... It doesn't hurt, just occasional shortness of breath. Find some time to come over and bring me some medicine."

"Don't tell Catherine, she's too soft-hearted. I know my condition well. If Catherine finds out it's incurable, how guilty would she feel?"

"Just bring me some painkillers, nothing else!"

Arabella's hand froze on the doorknob as she heard these words.

She didn't go in, standing at the door listening intently to Felix's instructions.

Felix's voice was extremely calm.

"My biggest worry now is the Evander family, especially Juniper. Do me a favor, let me live a few more days to settle things before I go!"

"I'll cooperate with any medication, just don't tell Arabella. She's been with me all her life, and it's been too hard on her."

"My biggest regret is about A-Yin and A-Du, and I owe Arabella too..."

Arabella closed the study door and left without a word.

Back in her room, she sat on the edge of the bed. After a moment, she covered her face with her hands, trembling uncontrollably, her eyes welling up with tears.

At The Windsor Mansion, Aurora fussed over the table full of dishes, asking Catherine repeatedly if Emilia would like this or that.

Catherine answered patiently each time. "Mom, Emilia loves sweets. You've done more than enough; there are already five cakes."

Juniper nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and Emilia has eaten here before. She loves our food!"

Emilia had dined at The Windsor Mansion before and had nothing but praise for their chef.

"This is the first time one of your brother's girlfriends is coming over for dinner, right? George is doing well, but who knows when the others will bring home a daughter-in-law for me!"

Aurora was experiencing the excitement of being a mother-in-law for the first time and was instantly flustered.

"Emilia has had such a hard life. I want to make her happy."

Every time Aurora thought about Emilia's past, her heart ached.

"Such a good child, having suffered so much. If her mother were still alive, her heart would break! As a mother myself, I hope that if I'm gone one day, my daughters will be treated well, and that would make me happy too!"

"Putting myself in her shoes, whose child isn't a treasure? Emilia's mother is gone, so I'll treat her as my own treasure!"

"Besides, I've been a daughter and a daughter-in-law. Shouldn't I treat her well?"

Aurora thought of her own experiences and wanted to be good to Emilia.

The hardships she endured under Lila's hand were something she would never let Emilia go through.

Brandon immediately hugged Aurora's waist. "Honey! Don't talk nonsense! If you ever leave, I won't live either!"

The whole family was used to the couple's antics.

Marcus sighed. "Fate is cruel. If Elodie were still here... she would have been a great mother and mother-in-law too."

Worried that bringing up Marcus's sorrow might affect his health, Catherine glanced at the time. "Didn't George say he'd be home by seven? Why isn't he back yet?"

Aurora, both reproachful and worried, picked up her phone. "George, is he caught up in another surgery? If he can't make it back on time, he should at least call. It's almost eight now, and making the whole family wait for him is one thing, but what if Emilia gets hungry?"

Aurora's mind was now entirely on Emilia.

The phone rang a few times, but no one answered. George's phone kept ringing with no response!

Aurora grew anxious and quickly called Emilia, but this time it went straight to voicemail.

"What's going on? Could something have happened to those two kids..."

With that thought, Aurora lost her appetite, pacing around the dining room, making several calls in a row.

Alexander gently hooked Catherine's finger, signaling her to look down. Under the table, he handed her his phone.

It was an urgent message from Annie.
